Broadcast Nets Cover London Bombing

Well what can I say, I slept late this morning and missed the breaking news of the London Bombing. Not sure how the local network affiliates covered the story. SO if you have details on how the LR or Shreveport stations handled the breaking news, please leave those comments in the comments section. I am really curious to know IF the network affiliates pre-empted their morning programs to allow network breaking news of the bombing.

Meanwhile, Broadcasting and Cable has a pretty good wrap up on how the bombing was handled by the networks and cable news. You'll find that article HERE.

Below are some highlights from the article:

  • ABC News, NBC News, Fox News and CNN were among networks that aired grainy images from inside subway cars taken on mobile phones.
  • CBS, ABC and NBC all extended their morning news shows into the late morning. ABC briefly cut away to Live with Regis & Kelly at 10 a.m. ET, but returned to news for a press conference with London officials.
  • NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams anchored MSNBC’s morning coverage, while Katie Couric and Lester Holt handled Today on NBC.
  • Thursday’s edition of ABC's World News Tonight will be dedicated to coverage of the attacks, as will news magazine PrimeTime Live and Nightline.
