Hahahahaha. Oh THV, I see your goal of having some of the worst reporters in LR is still on the white board. Just when I thought I could start watching again.

Thanks for posting Lauren. You are the only one who would know, or care.

I am happy for her! She is a fantastic person. She does need to get more of an edge about her but I am happy to see her getting another opportunity. I am a former co-worker, hence my bias.

I'm not in the business. I'm glad to see Lauren back at 11. It's not for me to judge her talent. I will take her beliefs as a Christian anytime.

Back on air? Bless her heart. That's a step backwards for THV.

At least she doesn't make up her stories like Wolf Blitzer.

A producer? What does a person in local television produce? In the real world they get up capital for making a movie or tv show.

Sorry for that. In the news it is the person we pay with a nice title. But your right they don't produce anything.

News producers will argue the show is what they produce. Of course they have almost nothing to do with the success or failure of that show. They basically just write some basic stories and keep the time.

So . . . they do what they used to call the floor director used to do while being paid camera operator salary or practically nothing.

Nothing worse than talent that "directs" from the floor.

Good producers are valuable to the team. If you don't appreciate producers, then you didn't/don't have a good one.

The term "Producers" is a fancy term for "Floor Director" and is used, like, "Sales Executive" is used to make the employee feel important. Anyone can keep time. A GOOD director can, and punch buttons at the same time. Such a soft job these days.

I don't know how the LR market works, but in most markets the computer "times" the show and the producer writes and stacks and makes sure the show fits the station vision for content. And no I am not a producer, I just know the functions of newsroom staff.
