More Info on the New Anchor to be at Channel 6
Here's info about KTAL's newly hired anchor. This is from his bio at KQDX, FOX 21 in northeastern Minnesota:
Nick LaFave is a FOX 21 original. He’s been the main anchor since our launching in 2007. His anchoring helped win two Emmy Awards. Nick doesn’t just sit at the desk, his reporting has won countless awards and garnered two Emmy Nominations.
Nick graduated from Northern Michigan University before beginning his career in Big Sky Country, working in both Missoula and Bozeman Montana. He then took off for Lansing Michigan before traveling to the Twin Ports to help launch FOX 21.
A native of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, LaFave is a life-long hockey fan and is active in the local Referee’s Association. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife Kristy, working out and golfing... poorly.

Good luck with the new job Nick. Moving from Minnesota to Louisiana in the middle of summer is going to be a huge change. You will not need a snow blower or tire chains, but you just may melt from our heat.
Somehow I am beginning to think that KTAL and Channel 12 are vying for who can have the most blacks on the air. God bless the dude that anchored Sunday night..and OMG should KTAL put Me-SHell and that dude on at the same time. Talk about Ebonics!
What about all of the whites at KTBS?
KTBS wants the least amounts of blacks.
KSLA- Good mix of black to white
KTAL- Too many black
KTBS- Too many whites
But honestly, it doesn't matter if they are black, white, yellow, or green, if they do a good job, they should be on air.
The anchor on KSLA is pretty good.....I really enjoyed her on "That's so Raven....

Looks like the ratings speak for themselves on this issue. KSLA #1, KTBS #2, and KTAL #3.
Nick is going to be a good thing for KTAL. And no, he isn't anything like the Me-Shell. I think Me-Shell should be concerned. Finally, KTAL will have someone to easily replace Me-Shell when she is late to the set or decides not to show up. Me-Shell may think she can mold Nick into doing what she wants...I don't think so.

No surprise there, anyone got more details?
Here's a detail for ya - Nick's station in Duluth started in 4th place when he signed on... they're now in 2nd.
I think ktal just hired another colored reporter. looked mexican or something. maybe indian. who knows.
More importantly, KTAL finally upgraded their equipment and yesterday, Wheel of Fortune was shown in HD for the first time !!
That's because Wheel Of Fortune and all of the other local programs now run out of the hub at KARK in Little Rock. That is the only station Nexstar owns in this region that is in HD. It will take another year or two for the local news to be aired in HD.
So is that why your signals been so bad the past two or three days? If that's what you call improvement I'd rather stay antiquated.
I went to high school with Nick, he is not Mexican. OMG!
