THV's new set is way better than that. No one can compete with the weather garden
FOX16 new set looks nice.
FOX16's new set looked ok. Now who's next to go HD? Will it be KARK or KATV? Is KATV getting a new set?
I like Fox16's set better than THV's but they're both too blue.
I think KARK will be next with KATV bringing up the rear. The question is whose will look the best?
KATV will NEVER get a new set and will be the LAST by a long time to go HD with it's news. That's just the way management there thinks. Never put money in to something unless you're just absolutely forced to. One look at their crumbling old building will tell you that.
Looks very large market. Nice job FOX 16. Guess this proves first isn't always best.
Fox looks 10times better than 11. Looks more national too.
THV's set is way better. This one is too flashy and sensationalized. But, then again, so is Fox's entire newscast.

It's not the set, it's the cameras that are used that do it.

Who is lighting the studio at THV? The engineering dept?
Thvs back drop is too fake, im talking about the blotchy image behind them.
Why is thvs newsroom shot still the same? They didn't construct a new set there. So ugly. You can see the duct tape. Are they planning on changing it? That's where all the reporters stand.
Fox 16's cameras don't look HD, they look out of focus. Maybe the crew doesn't know how to use them yet.
Why doesn't the engineering dept. train someone to operate equipment?
Watched the early show this morning. Melissa Dunbar-Gates has the best female announcing voice in the market.
Looks like sky blue is the color of the "weather garden" chroma key board.
Joey the cat was very well behaved and looked great on camera.
fox had a few tech flaws but who doesnt when you are starting something new. over all, i would say that fox's set looks WAY better than THV's and their live shots, even though not true HD, look ten times better than THV's. was very impressed

Same set used at sister station KOKI in Tulsa, which also went HD recently.
Just what is you people's definition of HD? Enlighten those that want to know.
Fox 16 set looks very nice. In my opinion 16's look far better than 11's. 11 has very few presentation areas and all they updated was the anchor desk, added a couple of flat screen monitors and a few cheap looking back drops. Cheaply down like ever thing else 11 has done over the last few years.

Fox's set looks classy and expensive.
They have a lot of backdrops and it is very functional.
They look like what THV wishes it were.
THV actually put up some money and re-did the weather garden and it looks 10-times worst than it was before.
they made some changes and it looked even better yesterday than it did the first day. studio cams were much sharper.

Looks like Ch.7 is going to be last unless they're secretly building next to their news set like Fox did.
My personal thought, who cares. I mean, being the first and only station in the last book didn't help Today's THV. In some slots, they look like number 3.
HD sets are pretty and people will turn to peek, but they still like they're anchors for personal reasons.
Fox's set looks a lot better than Channel 11's, but I don't watch either station.
Katv is not going HD or getting a new set...They will broadcast in 16x9
KLRT has:
Color,depth, camera resolution, equalized audio, correct camera to anchor/talent height ratio. Talent is good.
KTHV has:
Two HD? cameras, two or three kinda-blurry-looking-surveillance-type cameras, camera views looking down on talent in weather garden and a chroma key that is plagued with shadows they apparently can't figure out how to get rid of. Talent is good.
Waiting on the other shops to roll out their wares . . .
KATV is shooting with HD cameras in the field, but using them in standard like Fox... so is KARK.
Where are Today's THVs photog field cameras?
The FOX set looks very nice and very, very expensive! I just don't think people give a rip either way about stuff like that. If viewers cared about how a set looks they'd change the channel right away when Channel 7 is on with that puke-yellow background. But... they don't. In fact 7 does pretty well. And proves the point that none of this matters.

10:49 a.m. - Vision - yes. Taste - no. It's in HD and you've got a poorly lit black, white and tan set. Good idea, poor execution on every level.

The weather garden cameras are nowhere close to 720i resolution. That is the minimum HD.
Glad to see that the talent is standing further away from the chroma key board which reduces the shadows.
Anyone that is jealous of that weather garden shack is in need of help. Matter of fact, that is the only thing that has been shown in the new weather garden. Also, why is the talent always looking up when sitting in the shack?
If I were Joey I would move.
I hear that KLRT is getting a weather dog...Jeff Baskin has it right now training it. It will make its first appearnce in the May book...They have named it Leader.
