Rollover KTBS
A KTBS LIVE van was involved in a rollover in last week's ice/snow storm. The Shelby County Today reports the accident happened on US 96 heading towards Center, Texas. The driver was transported to the hospital.

Should have just delivered it to the local salvage yard and have it squished into one of those neat little four-foot-square bundles.
Wonder how many of the circuit boards inside the van are cracked.

Just typical with what has been going on with Channel 3. The entire place over the past couple of months has been a wreck. The mics aren't turned on when needed, random people walking through shots, anchor people standing and looking very uncomfortable. This station is more like a college station where all of these amatuerish actions are expected.

Hey, this is Karma in action I'm thinking.
Heard that head of prodn with 35 yrs at the station "left" a couple weeks back. Not sure if he wanted to or not, could be a "layoff" of sorts.
I know a few folks at KTBS and I heard the production manager is still there and is leaving on very good terms at the end of the month. He just decided to retire. Wanted to wait for the high def transition and the new news set and now that that has happened he is riding off into the sunset a very happy person.
Well I hope he had a good 401K cuz he's like in mid-50's and not eligible for SS bennies. Doesn't quite pass the smell test if ya ask me.

Heard through the grapevine that long-time art director was let go Friday AM at KTBS. Kinda coinky-dink considering the prodn mgr "resigned". Looks like they're cleaning house for cheaper employees if ya ask me.
That's how it is at many corporations-- the employees who have longevity that earn high salaries and sit around twiddling their thumbs are let go when hungry young bucks show up fresh outta college willing to work for low wages with a lot more talent. Typical.
Speaking of wrecks... the wreck of a news operation: KTBS claims another employee: Anchor Sherry Tally quit this week. Things must really suck at KTBS.
Well since I work here @ KTBS-3. You people should come and see our facilities and meet our owners and managers. THEN you can talk about our station. This is a wonderful place to work and one of the few PRIVATELY OWNED stations in the region. So we don't have a need to layoff people to make things happen. As for the "technical difficulties", make a complete facility swap to HD broadcasting and THEN talk about technical difficulties. And you could at least spell SHERRI TALLEY's name correctly, don't you think?!? She has taken on a new path in her life and will still be doing "Ark-La-Tex Angels". GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT!!
