My how times are changing. Old circle 7 managers must be shaking their head wandering what is happening. It seems like just yesterday 7 stole Steve and Barry from 4.
I am not a local tv station employee.
seven is not the one anymore it seems. seven is lifeless. katv use to set the standard for tv stations in little rock. they got rid of all the talent that gave the channel life. all they have on staff are folks that think they are little mr and ms good two shoes.come on channel 7 employ someone thats not blond..or won a beauty contest!

I'm happy for her. She deserves the step up to an anchor seat and I wish her the best.

Channel 7 main anchor, Ms. Munoz is not a blonde - and it is my understanding that noncompetes do not apply to reporters, which, I think, Jessica Dean is (even though she has filled in anchor positions).
Now if channel 4 would hire Meredith Mitchell as meteorologist, the would have a lock on "Hottest News Team".
aSpeaking of KATV reporters, would someone please explain to me why their newest reporter, Holly Sanders, would choose such large breast implants knowing she'd be pursuing a career in TV news?
She's a very attractive lady, but the size of her chest detracts from her work.
During a recent report on War Memorial golf course, she was dressed in such a tight shirt that she looked more like a Playboy bunny than a news reporter.
She doesn't always dress that way, of course. However, when she does, I think it detracts from her work and credibility.
If anything, she should avoid tight-fitting tops and dress more professionally in order to tone down her chest size.
Jessica had nowhere to go at katv. It would take an act of god to replace pam at the weekend anchor chair,and Beth is waiting for one of the main news anchors to leave to pull another power play like she did on Julia Grayson . She was wise to take the job. The pecking order at 4 is much shorter at kark. Jessica will do a great job. But she needs to get rid of the cheerleader hairdo and go to a shorter, more professional look. Tracy Beene is so much better than Meredith Mitchell.
She has the audience over Pam, definitely over mr. Excitent Duncan and Ashley is very watchable and will be a star in the near future. Let the battle begin.

Jessica could become the next Anne Jansen. Brains, beauty, class, and the ultimate professional. Let us hope.

Holly has so much hair, it covers her chest. The hair takes away attention from her face and loses her credibility and the audience watching her. It is so distracting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ashley at KTHV is already a star, and her star shines brighter and brighter every day. She has it all talent, beauty, and no ego. She has a sweet personality. That is a girl who is going places!
If she is so good, why is she not the anchor for the "whole" weekend?

Yep! looks like the talented Ashley is going to have to wait her turn. Mike Duncan is in front of her. Wake up KTHV, she should be your anchor for SATURDAY and Sunday! WOW! Right now Mike is giving KTHV a good duncan, but Blackstone can stone the weekend competition if she is given a chance!

Sure why not, most of the reporters feel as if they are entitled to be anchors at 11 anyway. If they would allow the current Sat. AM anchor person to be an anchor then they will allow anyone. Here's the problem... there are too many reports and BPJ's that think they DESERVE to anchor a show. They can barely read, write, edit much less speak clearly.
How many of the anchor wanna be's have paid their dues as reporters? I mean really paid their dues and shown their mettle as reporters? I know backpackers often take the job to show they are willing to work hard to make it in the news business. But how many of the anchor wanna be's or those that are new at the anchor gig have had their writing and on-air work recognized with awards for heir work? I dare say not many.

Let's not forget about newly bleached out News anchor Kelly Dudzik. I guess klrt thought that two bleachers were better than one. They were wrong! Kelly is too blonde.
You are correct - not many. What happened to the days of EARNING your spot on the anchor desk. That comes with time, seasoning and talent and not cryin' to the newsdirector or GM. You know who got the shaft at THV, is Melissa Dunbar Gates. She should be anchoring at least the Saturday AM show. She's paid her dues, she writes well, she can ad-lib, read and doesn't come across arrogant! She should anchor at least 1 show! Ashley Blackstones does a great job as well.
Who is going to replace Jessica on weekend daybreak? The obvious choice is Michelle rupp!!! She has paid her dues and deserves the promotion.
Melissa at THV has her stripes, but wanted to be the morning reporter, not an anchor. Blackstone does a great job. She is driven.
I love the way so many old geezer news people love to talk about "paying your dues" Give me a break! These are different times we live in, just ask any newspaper around the country. Paying dues doesn't mean squat if the content and product SUCKS... Right KATV? Viewers don't care!!!! Only people who work in this business then blog about it do! Good quality stories mean everything, even if the reporter telling it has only been around for a week or two!
Stephanie Simonides shouldn't move ahead of Michelle for the Daybreak weekend spot. Unless Michelle takes Jessica's spot, is that a rook job?
KATV has no down to earth people. they are all blonds and beauty pageant winners that seem stuck up. they are too stiff even the male anchors. loosen up, act more human.
I hear Meredith works cheap, just a bale of hay and some oats every now and then.

Why not put Liz Massey on a trip to the morning show and put Ashley or Courtney with Dawn and or Craig. If Liz beats Munoz at 10pm anybody can.

Channel 11 really needs to promote Ashley. She's young and they aren't going to be able to keep her if they don't make a special place for her. It would be a shame to lose that girl

I don't know how long you have been around TV but all the info that the weather people get comes from the NOAA a.k.a. National WX (broadcast abbreviation for weather) Service. All the stations get the bulletins at the same time. The radar is just so much fluff and a gimmick. I doubt anyone at any station has a degree in reading a PPI. Maybe I would not trust her with telling me what is going to happen with the wx but she is lovely to look at, much more so than the woman that woman with the big hair that went out a decade ago.

I don't think Tracy has ever not had big hair in her career. Has she? The thing though, is that Tracy makes her main contribution through money for ads and sales for the station and the other weather woman has problems keeping an audience. Meredith vs Tracy , Tracy wins everytime!!! Tracy may be on the downside, but Meredith won't even make it up the hill.
Tracy Beene is awesome! Love her delivery and her look! Plus I heard she was a meteorologist in the USAF. She will go far in this business...just watch!

Well, I just get tired of watching that guy talk about molding peoples eyeballs while they sleep. the pre-recorded commercials are supposed to be part of the "Noon" show.
BTW, to the "anchor" lady at KARK that says, "Nyune" for Noon. Just say Noon. I mean would you say Myune for Moon? Or how about "Cyune" for Coon as in Raccoon.

She also tries those little phrases like the Headline News girl says, like "morning sunshine"and they rip-off the Today show with the Mr Roker-Mr Franois stuff. It's is too much to ask to use your own original dialogue. If I want to hear all the other news channel catch phrases, I should just watch them. Be yourselves!!!

What would Ms. Monet like to be promoted to. No place to go except Sunday morning news show.. Too many rocks in the road. Ashley is the mover-upper at the station.
I would give a push for Katherina Yancey to make a move up at the station. She needs to lose the long, stringy hairstyle to give her a more professional and credible look!

title and a raise and go ahead and move Ashley on in for the whole weekend. She wii beat the other stations hands down. Use her or lose her! She is great!
She has talent, professionalism, and youth on her side. She is not in the business for the personal attention. She is a professional through and through. I predict Ashley will make her mark somewhere soon.
Ashley and her fan club need to give it a rest. Ashley should be more concerned about her fired husband. Let's get back to the topic at hand, Jessica and all the other hotties at KARK.
