Former KSLA Chief Met on Leaving KSLA

Maybe I should start making it a habit of reading my e-mails first. Former Chief Meteorologist Patrick Dennis sent this e-mail to Arkansas TV News late Sunday night:

Just read your post about me disappearing from KSLA. It is true. I am gone from television. For the past 10 1/2 years, KSLA was like my second home. I loved it. However, the time had come to put my family first. I am still in Shreveport and have no plans to move. I started my own video production business, Patrick Dennis Video Productions, about two years ago...and plan to continue to grow the business and help my wife with hers.

I have been blessed in so many ways and thank God for each and every day. Thanks to everyone I have encountered over the years for the kind words. It has been a pleasure being your meteorologist.

Thanks,

Patrick Dennis

A person that has learned it's best to get out of the broadcast business while you can. No futures in this business if you have to walk on eggs all the time. Good luck to you my friend.

I met Patrick in college when he judged a debate tournament at LSU-Shreveport. He was very personable and seemed like a great guy. He sure didn't have the ego that some on air talent have. He also did a great job at KSLA. I hope he finds much success in his future endeavors.

It was so refreshing to see Patrick on the news. His character and demeanor was above anyone else. Will miss seeing him.

Hate to see you go...I have made it a point to tune into and trust your weather forecasts! Change is difficult thing to accept; I hope the changes that you have made pay big dividends. Good luck my friend!

KSLA had absolutely the best met team around. I will not pre-judge the new guy, but its going to be hard to replace what viewers preceived as the "dream team".

Amen on miss Dennis, hate to see him go, but I surely wish him success. But you know you enjoyed the weather business. KSLA will never be the same. We switched to 6.
