Comcast Reportedly Reaches Deal With Nexstar

Arkansas Business.com is reporting Nexstar and Comcast have reached an agreement to keep KARK on its system. Here's what AB.com has to say about the deal:

"“Comcast doesn’t want to announce anything, but I can tell you that you can consider the deal done,” said Duane Lammers, COO of Nexstar. “They didn’t want to put anything out about it, but we’ll be on Comcast in your market.”

Lammers said part of the deal was not to release terms of the agreement.

The old deal between Nexstar and Comcast was to expire Dec. 31, and officials had said if a deal was not done before then, KARK would be gone at midnight New Year’s Eve." MORE

Mike is a clown... worst weather guy and TV personality in the state. Dan is okay. Tracy brings some assets to the broadcast.

What's the deal with Channel 11 and WHECO. Are they trying to get paid as well?

If the cable companies quit broadcasting them, I'm sure they would all change their tune in good time.

In my opinion KARK News and network programming is not worth what ever price these cable companies are having to pay. The time when KARK Newscast were worth watching has long passed.

They lack comfort on air. Tracey and Bob are the only faces that have been in Arkansas TV news any length of time.
KARK needs to bring back the
" 4 The People" attitude.

KARK has had more stability regarding on air talent than any other station. Jancey has been the only real change and that was a very positive change. Bob, and Brett have been on for years. I want to add that KARK does a great job and i'm glad they're going to remain on cable. Their weather coverage is definitely the best.

I saw Melisa Simas anchoring the news tonight on KARK. She did a great job.

I wonder how long it's going to take 7, 11, and 16 to ask for money now that 4 has taken the risk and won! 4 did all the work and now the other stations can profit from it, too.

4 is getting better. Their promotions department seems to be awake, too. Nice to see Tracy Douglass back in the market.

11 already has a message on their site about this.

That didn't take long!

KTHV is constantly crawling the info about the WEHCO situation. What really gets my ire is that they have to kill the High Def to run the crawl. I'm trying to watch the doggone football game and it keeps switching out of HD so the can run the stupid crawl!

If their Promotions team is awake as you say then why is there an opening on their website for a producer?
Someone jumping ship?again?

Oh for the love of God, you jumping ship people need to jump ship yourself. You have no clue how the TV biz works. Open your eyes and see the light of day. People move on in any business. Get a grip!
