KATV's Online Marketplace Sure Ain't Wal-Mart

I have seen the promos for the online KATV Marketplace but I didn't actually check it out until a little bit ago and I tell ya what it doesn't fit in my budget. Just check it out for yourself and you'll see if the bids stay where they are at right now, middle class folks just might be able to afford some of the stuff there.

It looks to be an e-bay type site. Many of the auctions start at $20 BUT more of them start alot more than that. Most of the items look to be something most people wouldn't just go out and buy on spur of the moment. Items included on the site are: APS Pole System with Feeders & Seed, Lu Kieu Planters, $500 Gift Certificate on Bridal Gown of Your Choice and Bijou Bed.

Wow...not one single bid. How long until KATVer's are asked to start bidding on items so the clients don't get pi$$ed.

Another fine venture into the internet, that's actually years behind the times, but KATV will try to make you think it's state of the art.

But if I need to I can buy a t-shirt and pants valued at $220. Who the heck pays 200 bucks for a t-shirt and pants. I've got a 3-pack of Hanes v-neck T's I'd be happy to sell to the highest bidder once the reserve is met. They have a Punky Pink or whatever that lame store is called value of $150. No reserve.

KATV needs to get the on-line video stuff working... right now it's awful.

I wouldn't pay $220 for a T-shirt, even if one of KATV's hot little reporters was in it !

Or would I ????

Would the $220 include the price of a Happy Meal?

If they have a minimun reserve that has to be met before you can buy the product, then why don't they start the bidding at the reserve minimum? Frickin' chuckleheads.

And they have there own sales girls modeling the clothes.

Guess they didn't want to do it up right and outsource.

KATV i have a gut feeling that you will spend all of your time trying to play spin doctor and showing things and products people don't give a hoot about and now i predict that you are your own worst downfall!

Beth hunt might come up with a better plan!

Just what goes into an after hours party valued at $2,000. Do get all three models?

Beth and Michelle are little doves... little, sparkling, glowing doves.

At 12:36 PM, August 23, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Those three models would be worth $2,000 for sure.

I guess that's how they're paying for their enhancements.

The bidding is getting intense. There have been a total of like 5 bids on the huge selection of 35 items.

Just what is the reserve bid on a $1,500 pillow.

Again we see how KATV has lost touch with the reality that is their viewer. Note to KATV, there are more people living outside of the Heights that watch your station then live in the Heights.

$1,500 for a pillow? I assume it comes with the one-air talent of the buyer's choice ?

I was thinking it might be fun to bid with no intentions of paying. Come on, how else would you explain $2,000 for a mirror. (Personal motto: Never buy a mirror that costs more then your car.)

Then I read Bidder rule number 13....

13 Please do not bid if you do not intend to pay!

Darn you rule 13......

What does "opening bid" mean on those? Are those the lowest prices that would be accepted?

Here's why I ask... the opening price is $20 for a party with those three blonde chicks. Anyway you slice it... that's a deal !!!!!

At 10:11 AM, August 25, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That's what the first bid has to be. But it is not what the minimum reserve bid is. A few items have bids but the bids are not high enough to win the item. So why didn't KATV just make the minimum bid the reserve bid? Seems it would make a lot more sense. Want to party with these chicks? You must bid this much. Anyway you slice it the whole thing is shame and a waste of bandwidth.

I'll take Jason Harper with that pillow, please.

Blondes are never a waste of bandwith... at least hot ones.

At 12:45 PM, August 25, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Are blondes cuter than brunettes or redheads? Blond hair is definitely prettier IMO. Blondes are usually HOT.

At 1:18 PM, August 25, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

It depends... there some blondes on Arkansas television who keep having to dye their hair to keep it from going dark. That's not attractive.

At 1:19 PM, August 25, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Jancey's the hottest blonde in this market... natural hair color and amazing blue eyes.

At 2:31 PM, August 25, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

MORE REDHEADS!

I like Beth Hunt she is a good looking blonde and she is worth a gift from tiffanys up in new york but don't have a chance to get next to her to give it to her and she is worth that much.

KATV need to get a better pair of cute DOVES to help them on their viewership and i can see were the job is getting to them and making them look old beyond their years!

At 10:38 PM, August 26, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Just over an hour to go and nothing has met the minimum bid. Classic. I'm not sure who thought up this idea at channel 7 but as usual I bet the lack of interest was not their fault.

At 12:33 PM, August 27, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KATV need to work on making KATV worth watching instead of making and selling bids on a worthless items we are not interested in!

At 2:47 PM, August 27, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

KATV made a bad call on this one and they pushed the envelope too hard and got nothing in return from the viewers but poor ratings and we need to make them do better than this TABLOID TV reporting!
