Poll Results: Who is Little Rock's NEWS Station?
You had a week to vote and the results are in. We asked blog readers: Who is the NEWS LEADER in the Little Rock Market? Well here are the results. KARK came in first with 96 votes OR 48% of the votes; KTHV came in second with 58 votes OR 29 % of the votes; KATV came in third with 36 votes OR 18% of the votes AND KLRT came in last, with 10 votes OR 5% of the votes.

The results are skewed... at least one person was asking all his friends to vote for a certain statios. Plus, that person used different computers to vote multiple times.
Sounds like KARK had their employees all stationed around computers voting. No way can a 4th rank TV Station in a 3 Station Market be rated the best.
Well, I know there is one "KATV Hater" in here who voted from many different places.
Truth is, KARK is getting a lot better, but still has some work to catch up. KTHV and KATV are leading right now.
And KATV has never asked it employees fill out "best of entries"
Looks like KATV did not stack the polls, at all. The numbers that come out this month will tell all.
It was a honest contest and KARk did well and KATV need to learn from KARK and since Traicey Douglass came back i think that did the trick.

The above poster is ALWAYS good for a laugh. Love how this person spells and writes run-on sentences. Must be some kid, home from school for the summer.
KATV may have it's problems but right now they are the still the best in the market, hands down. The morning show is improving, Mid-Day needs work, 5:00 has no competition, 6:00 is good and 10:00 is the best around here. The new ratings should be out soon so we"ll know soon enough. Prediction: KATV sweeps 5,6 and 10 and struggles in the morning.

Man you're going out on a limb. They could run test patterns at 5 and 6 and still win. That's all habit and it sits between Oprah and Wheel of Fortune. 10pm should do better then normal because ABC is coming back. Then again they could have pi$$ed off enough viewers with their morning show "make over" that it might show in other places.
Eventually KATVs revolving anchor policy will start to show. You can't continue to jerk the viewer around and not have it bite you in the butt.
The question was who is Litle Rock's News station. The fact is, KARK is the BEST at covering news with substance. It's clear that more thought goes into their coverage. The above poster is exactly right. It takes a long time to change viewer habits. In time, viewers will realize KATV isn't as good as it used to be and KARK isn't as bad as it used to be.
KATV has lost it in my book and if they get rid of DAle Nickerson that will be a postive start to recover.
I grew up watching KARK and continue to watch KARK. I can't stand to watch KTHV or KATV. No one really knows who is the news leader. This market needs to be metered instead of having diaries.
Sweeps are in and KARK is now tied with KATV in the morning for second place, they had huge gains while KATV lost big time. KTHV remained the exact same.
KARK was also the only station to gain at 10:00. KARK is also firmly the number two station at 5:00.
I can see the bald headed general manager of KATV came forward doing promo's for the Red Cross and that should be the last thing he should do and step down and let Michelle Rupp take over and Michelle Rupp can do a better job than he is doing.
