4 covers politics better than 7. This is a weak attempt for them to play catch up. Where is 11?

Yo slick, look at your numbers sometime. KATV has dominated politics and elections for decades. Roby is a smart guy, he knows where he is going to get better exposure. Smart move on his behalf.

Just what would Janelle add to this show? Somebody really thinks she is a political aficionado?

Something doesn't add up here. If KATV saw value in Roby they would have picked him up several years ago. The Business Journal's.article also points out he is going out on his own with print. What happened with AY Magazine ?

Clearly you've never had to talk politics with Janelle. She can drone on and on forever. She's literally the only person in the newsroom that cares about the capitol. Everyone else knows politics is a good way to lose ratings.

He obviously left because 4 dumped Capitol View on him as well. That guy has enough going on with TB&P brand to do two shows that basically compete against each other, not to mention he gets a pretty prime slot on Sunday morning.

Covering one stinkin' session hardly makes a person knowledgeable about Arkansas politics. Janelle may know the latest scuttlebug but probably can't put it into perspective. That's not a knock against her, it is just the facts. Also, isn't she always talking about how she is just biding her time until Nashville calls? Seems kind of risky to put her on a regular show if that's not just wishful thinking on her part.

It's just wishful thinking. No way she can hang with the Nashville beauties.

So what is the real story here? Did KLRT tell Roby they wanted his time slot for sports and kick him out and that is why he jumped to KATV?

KLRT had paid programming of Talk Business then 2.5 Men at 10:30 now they are switching to a sports roundup of the week/weekend. If they plan on covering non Razorback stuff they may have to produce the the new show live or at least later Sunday afternoon.

The Talk Business show if i remember was recorded on Fridays.

Will knwa and kfta still broadcast talk business or is it moving to the mess of a station over at 40/29 for northwest Arkansas. I thought JR Davis and Robby had really good chemistry working together.

Also thv works with Arkansas businesses publications so katv was his only other choice .

The KTHV parnership with Arkansas Business....
Yet another reason KTHV trails the pack.
Why do they think that putting writers (they sure don't qualify as journalists) on TV appeals to viewers? Why doesn't KTHV interview the business people instead of the folks who can only write about it and likely have no real business experience......

So is it going to be taped or are they going to start bringing in a Sunday morning crew?

"Lead Capital Reporter Janelle Lilley" that is funny.

Sadly, the way reporters come in and out of town these days, she really is the best KATV has to offer on the subject.

Why does KATV even give Janelle more airtime?? Saturday Trainwreck is bad enough...

Is this more of the "truth" we can look forward to hearing? Somebody brown-nosing the Sinclair suits?

Translated: Fair & Balanced - Conservative AND Republican

Sinclair may or may not force them to be conservative... that remains to be seen.

What I can never understand is people like the last poster who constantly jab at Foxnews for appealing to conservative audiences. What is wrong with that? Foxnews is an island of conservative leaning news programming in a sea of mostly liberal programming. Why don't you pick on MSNBC? They are at least if not more biased in the other direction. There is nothing wrong with either position in my opinion. And there is nothing wrong with Sinclair wanting to make their stations lean more conservative either. After all, we have three other liberal-leaning stations in town already.

It's because most reporters are fairly liberal-leaning themselves. That coupled with finding out "how poor and black people are dealing with X situation" has become a crutch for reporters without real story ideas. That makes them look liberal as well.

Case in point – last night KATV ran a story about hate groups, even though the listed included black groups as well - they just showed hooded KKK for video.

Nation of Islam was included in the list of identified hate groups, and the reporter was sure to include that she had called the local Nation of Islam reps who assured her that they were not really a hate group... funny how she didn't do that courtesy for any other groups mentioned in the report.

It's very biased reporting, but for some reason goes unnoticed because liberals agree with it.

If you are going to appeal to the right, that is totally fine. But don't market yourselves as "Fair & Balanced" when your agenda is clearly to to right.

Or don't call it "News" when it is all just political TMZ. That goes for all the channels, not just Fox.

Three other liberal stations. So FOX 16 is liberal? That would be news. You must be in Colorado smoking something legal.

Is it really a surprise that reporters, who make next to nothing, are not Republicans? Go figure.

At 12:21 PM, February 26, 2014, Anonymous Anonymous said...

"Fair and Balanced" is as much of a point of view as "progressive" is (which is what msnbc prefers to call itself, as opposed to liberal). Both are just marketing ploys, which the intended audiences usually agree with.

Marine really should apologize for that report on hate groups. I just watched it and agree it was very biased. Why didn't she give any other groups a chance to say they were not about hate?

Maybe if she finds herself in a room full of black separatists one day she'll find out they definitely don't love white people.

At 12:52 PM, February 26, 2014, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They don't teach kids about that side of hate groups in school, which is why young reporters tend to blink when they see it. But of course, it's completely true.

Last I checked, if THV had it on Sunday morning there would be no need for studio crew since they have no camerapersons.

I bet they tape it after the Saturday morning show... that's what the janelle connection is really about.

I spent the last 9 year launching FOX 16 and attended many meetings.
We never talked about political slant. Never once came up about how to cover a story.

The first episode was funny. I think Roby corrected Janelle 2 or 3 times.

I noticed that the show is now more about politics than business. I used to be 50/50 for both business and politics . Now it is maybe 30 seconds on business and the rest on politics which is sad since their website and publication services competes very well against Arkansas business in local business news .
