Good on ya Todd. Everyone missed this forecast, at least you can admit it.

James Spann at KATV's sister station, ABC 33/40 in Birmingham/Tuscaloosa often has mention how important humility is for a meteorologist to have. I would rather someone admit their forecast missed than be another meteorologist at that same station who goldbricks through their weathercasts and is rude to viewers in public.

Flip a coin. That is what you get from KATV's weather people. Todd could care less. He just wants page views.

I will go with Todd any day on the forecast. At least he doesn't say stupid things like, "check for slick places under the stop lights" and "the front is draped over the Midwest.'

The Weather Channel's graphics are much better at telling the story. 7 just stands in front of the same maps night after night after night after night. Why do they do weather?

And how is that different from any other station in town?

Yeah. How is that different?

In Shreveport, KTAL had the balls to run a "most accurate forecast" ad based on some BS company they PAID. Todd Warren missed the forecast so bad that his forecast was deleted from the web.
I saw some of 3's, but I was one of those IDOTS that thought KTAL was changing. Let Patrick Dennis Lead.

Is it Weather Rate? They were peddling that in Little Rock a few years ago. Fox 16 finally fell for it after it was offered to at least two other stations first. KARK uses it now after the merger. I guess whoever writes the check gets to use the graphic. Check out their website, it looks like a college programming project from the mid 90's.

Believe it or not, Weather Rate is a real company that actually tracks each station's forecast everyday, in all markets across the US. Only the station that has the best forecast rate over an entire year in each market may buy the right to say it on the air(yes, they do have to pay). If KARK is using it, they had to earn it.

Yes it's a real company, no it doesn't mean anything. They offered that certification to two other stations before fox 16. Fox 16 bought it and as soon as KARK took over they started using it. Was it just coincidence that KARK became the most accurate as soon as they started paying the bills? The manner in which weatherate collects their data is extremely flawed. Do some research, this isn't the only market that they have offered it to multiple stations only bestowing the honor onto whoever would pay.

It KTAL's defense, every Shreveport station busted that forecast. Well half of it at least. They called for two rounds and only one happened. 3, 6, 12, NWS, TWC all called for the two seperate rounds of winter precip.
