I liked seeing the old photos. It does bring back good memories watching the news with family. I like the voiceover guy voice.

But the commercial seems to come out of left field. This isn't the year they are having their 60th annv. is it. Will there be more from this "home" campaign?

VoiceOver guy was one of the worst things about that.

Agreed. Who's voice was it?

I liked the change of voiceover guys as well. It is a nice break from the guy that does their news intro and commercials is he the same announcer that did the intro back in the 90s when they were News 4.

KARK actually has a new promo? There is the headline!

It's crap. Much like their reporters.

It's shame that KARK has to remind people that it was once great news station

At 9:03 AM, July 02, 2013, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They can run all the promos they want, the station is still in last place and will stay there.

When you have to run promos with people that used to be there you are in serious trouble.

Where are Pete, Courtney and Bret?

Spot on 9:30 AM.

It's time to bring back the "Where are they now" threads like were on here years ago so we can catch up.

"I love this town...." Fine for one promo, ruined the whole vibe when the both say it.

Promos running in the Newscast is not healthy money wise. Lack of sales.

At 8:59 PM, July 03, 2013, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, that's bad, but running promo fill during primetime is even worse.

New-waz and nyews. LMAO

I guess it's all about "home" these days. THV is also running "Home" promos. I guess they've dropped the Today's THV branding for good. That was a great brand when it was applicable.

voice over guy doesn't scare the crap out of you like their news voice over guy does. sounds like Satan's spawn. i've said it before, they would see increased in ratings at 4 by running 1970's repeats of eyewitness news. maybe this is going to be a strategy of nexstar...save money, cut talent, and re-rack the 70's and 80's!

In the LR market, there is presently no talent even close to the talent in the 70's. Nor will there ever be again. Too many amateurs and not enough professionals.

Hideous. Boring. Flat. Irrelevant. Amateurish.

This concept gives me a warm feeling of security and reflections of the old days make me smile.

I agree. Speaking of the old days they should do like some previous comments have suggested and rerun old newscasts form the 1970's and 80's. They can kick things off with the Alice McArthur murder. Now there's a warm feeling for you.

Yeah, that's when they broadcast real news instead of this backpack journalist crap where the cameras are out of focus and the sound is distorted a lot of the time. Oh, well, it's management at it's best.

At 9:55 AM, July 12, 2013, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Those cameras aren't out of focus. What do you expect from an iPhone?

At 1:03 PM, July 12, 2013, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Even old hand crank cameras had a better picture.

Seriously thought, that is a good idea to dig some old stories out of the archive, like the McArthur murder case, for a weekly "what ever happened to/where are they now" package.

I like the delay when they go to local live shots now. A live shot in north little rock has a delay equivilent to going live to Afganistan. Again, cheap cuts.

It used to be that the television stations provided you with video and information on breaking news. Now the tv stations rely on viewers to send them video and information. It's just rediculous.

Kermit did a better job with his Sesame Street news flashes, complete with trench coat, hat & a big microphone.
