In last night's episode of Modern Family, did anyone notice the similarities between Sofia Vergara's character and Alyse Eady?
Hahahaha! The puppet episode! I was wondering if I was the only person who noticed that. She should use puppets on air one time as a joke.
My favorite episode. Sophia gets onstage and does a ventrilaquist act at a pageant. Modern Family is a great show.
Similarities between Sofia Vergara and Alyse Eady? Well, a ventiloquist act for a pagaent was not what came to mind first. Anyway, that was a funny epsiode and I wonder where the writers came up with the idea. They do make jokes about this part of the country that are fairly accurate (Branson, farms, etc.) Could it be there is a writer on the show from Arkansas?

I vote move Christina out the door. Do not like the sad eyed delivery, like she is trying to mimic Diane Sawyer. Just read the news and drop the acting.
New weekend anchor sounds like a female Thurston Howell when she delivers - very nasally. Go listen to your tapes. Otherwise, she's pretty good. Better than Pam and Lauren.
Christina Dresses the best in this market as far as news wear goes

Thoughts on the new THV news director?
Listen up whoever the one christina defender on this blog is. I dont want her on weekends either. I dont want her at all. She does suck, she does overact, she is fake, and she's not popular in her own newsroom. She looks like she is 40 and is barely in her 30's. Her story ideas like "Akansas' Adele" were colassally made fun of by average viewers on facebook.
Sure ratings have been good lately. That appears to be in spite of her since she was on maternity leave last november when it all started, and she was on the desk during the plummeting years (for some reason you forget that?)
So she may be your friend you are defending and that is respectable. But you are also going to have to respect that a great many people do not like her.
Wow. You people really think all this matters don't you? I haven't been in the biz for many years and I remember feeling all of these things too - but guess what? No one cares but you! No one cares who "Christina" is... heck I really couldn't even tell you and I worked in Little Rock only 8 years ago and I still live here. The fact is people do not watch the local news - and why should they/we? It's a worn out tired medium that loses audience every funeral.
This was evident in my day as well but everyone thought weather would keep people interested. Whoops! Now we all have iPhones with detailed forcasts at our fingertips.
No one is craving local news the way you all do it. Sure we all like to know what's going on but we dont want to wait until 10. We want it now and we don't care about your great "story telling". We can tell our own stories around the water cooler.
So don't worry about this 30-something Christina character. If she's that young, it's very likely she'll be unemployed in the near future anyway like most of the rest of you and your colleagues - unless you seriously put more resources into your online programs and WAY less on those shows no one watches.
TV news both locally and nationally is still struggling with how to cope and find its place in our new social media world. No 20+ years of experience news director knew how to handle this. The Little Rock stations' web sites all suck because they bury their unique content in a screen full of junk. Emphasize what you do well on your newscasts on your websites.
Christina is too fake. As proven during her maternity leave, KATV doesn't need her. It is not about Christina, it is about the channel. When she is on, I don't watch.
Maybe Alyse can interview Sofia next time she is in town. Then they can do their puppet act together. And then they can ... What? CRAP! I JUST WOKE UP! RESTART THE DREAM!

This reminds me: Used to be a news director at THV that would open the morning paper and always read the obits first. He would joke and say, "I want to see how many viewers we lost today." That was several years ago and I thought it was funny -- turns out to be more "real" than funny.

Note to KATV, please change the light settings in the studio for weekend Daybreak to not blind the viewers if you continue to allow the red head to be on the show and offer some wardrobe guidance to her as well. Your welcome.
