KATV Tops in the Rock in November....BUT.......
KATV/Channel 7/Little Rock topped its competitors in the November ratings period. Arkansas Business.com reports KATV won every time slot EXCEPT the 5am hour where KTHV was the leader. AB.com reports even though KATV is the clear leader....its numbers are flat/down when compared to November 2011. You can find the complete November ratings numbers HERE.

But what?
Investing in Alyse, salary and on-air training, is paying off.She is helping THV take the mornings back.THV is blessed to have you girl.
Little Rock really does have three good morning shows. Congrats to KATV for the 6 am win, KTHV for the 5 am win, and KARK for the huge improvement in ratings.
Seriously, you win one hour in like the last year and your going to go all Yay Alyse? C'mon girl.....you're better than that.
I posted the comment about Alyse. I'm so proud of her! She's doing a great job and is part of a great team. Since we tear people down so much on here, we should also be able to give kuddos where they're due.
ALYSE IS MORNING'S BESTEST. THV CAN ALWAYS COUNT ON ALYSE. SHE PULLED THE MORNING SHOW THROUGH AGAIN. WELL DONE ALYSE. NEXT CONTRACT, YOU NEED A RAISE.
Pulled the morning show through again? Man, your guys version of success is set so low nowadays it's pathetic.
Thank you, 3;19, so true.
There is a hole in the boat.
Munoz to weekends.
Hunt at 5, 6 and 10.
ALLYSON! to Landers Toyota ads.
Yeah, you're right. They've been absolutley dominating the local market so let's change everything up. Take the anchor of the weakest evening show and put her on everything, take the anchor of the best rated newscasts in the state and move her to weekends, take a morning show host who has only lost one hour in the last how many books and get rid of her. There's a hole in the boat? What planet do you live on? It's decisions and thinking like this that got your station into the hole it's in now. And btw, what about Inman? He's on all three evening shows that are number one so he's obviously gotta go. Maybe he could do weather and Ned can go to sports.
Correction...KFSM is the highest rated station in the state. No one should take credit except the call letters. KATV was number 1 before this GM, ND and most of the talent. That would also include the current Promo team and producers/directors.
And they're still number one so by all means they should change everything.
@8:37 You really need to check some stats.
What stats? KATV's share is not even close to KFSM.
Was this the book where channel 11's anchor died? If so, NOT good news for 11. Hate to say it but the reality is that was a ratings boost.
3:19 said "congrats to KARK for the huge improvements in ratings." The only improvement for KARK was in the 6:00 am show. Everything else was flat. Demos weren't impressive at all.
"OOOOOHHHH JUST YOU WAIT MR HIGGINS JUST YOU WAIT!"
KATV will kill the February books (the most important ones!) and all y'all haters will be crying ;j
Like all things this will change eventually but right now the only competition KATV has is itself.
I don't understand, if KATV since is so far ahead, why all the panic when all they lost was one hour?It appears that maybe they are worried. Why?
Matt Turner's passing was long before the November book.
Book usually starts late October. He died in October so I don't think it's "long."
bTW, that's what she said.
I cannot believe that someone would suggest something on here that is as sensitive as someone's death in connection with sweeps. That has to be a new low, even for this blog
@7:10 Worried yes, but not about you. We lost an hour. We can do better.
I've been reading where the CW is going to dip into the news biz and dominate with male and female escorts attempting to read while flexing their heavenly bodies in an out of this world 3D picture and quite possibly smell-o-vision that emits small bursts of your favorite cologne or perfume. ;j
Discussing the death of an anchor and how it affects this ratings period and this ratings period only is fair gane, as long as the discussion is matter-of-fact, mature, and professional. In my honest opinion, I do not believe the late Mr. Turner had been on the air long enough in Central Arkansas for many viewers to connect with him and for him to affect the ratings.
I thought that the cruel discussion a few months ago about how "unattractive Liz's child is" was as low it could go, but I was wrong. It doesn't matter which station you are from, linking something as unfortunate as a death to a loss or gain of ratings is beyond inappropriate.
So, we act like nothing happened?
Grow up. I'm amazed continually at the emotional immaturity of some people on this blog. It's not high school anymore. TV news people are products, plain and simpe, to news management. That's why on air people get irked and fired because of ratings. It's business. When you lose a product, you ascertain whether and how it affects the bigger product. I'm not saying its not a tragedy and I feel horribly about it. But anything that affects ratings is a topic of discussion inside a station nd out.
The comment about Liz's chid is low. First, the kid is cute, second the kiddo is not in te news biz
She puts it there.
