FOX 16 Looking for a New Head Weather Guesser....
This was left a few days ago in the tip box:
Rumor: FOX16's Chief Meteorologist Jeff Baskin may be leaving the station. I saw a "Newport Television Career Connection Update" commercial during the 8:30AM half-hour this morning on FOX16 saying that the station is looking for a "Chief Meteorologist". Could this mean KLRT and KASN are looking for a new head weather person? We'll have to see...

...Actually it turns it, this may of been a mistake. Remember, this was just a rumor. Newer "Newport" bumps that have come out no longer say they need a new weather person. Like I said, this may of been a mistake...

It's amazing how few people on this blog cares about Fox. A post about their Chief Met's job status gets almost no comments. I like Fox...I'm just surprised they don't generate more discussion.

Joey the Garden Cat has more Facebook followers than KLRT. Come on.
Fox16 seems to have someone with a political ax to grind also. As someone keeps posting that Fox is lacking a morning and midday local programming. However who cares. Fox does a decent job and in some cases better than the other "big 3". However is is probably not worth doing morning/midday with their current market information. It took them a while to expand to 5/5:30. I see them phasing things in as they think the market will accept.
I can tell you as a viewer and one that has not worked in any TV/Radio market that all the stations have their quirks but most do a decent job. I may get a few more annoyances out of Fox but they seem to be doing better..

Well, it's hard to criticize a station when they do so well.
When they do so well? Have you seen their ratings? They get decent lead ins...people just change the channel when they come on.
You need to look at their 9pm ratings. They grow their lead in and that's against Network programing. People do turn over to watch them. They do win the 9pm slot.
I'd love to see any ratings. Someone cough 'em up.

Heck, just look at what ABC, NBC and CBS have to offer in the 9pm slot. It's a no-brainer to watch local news (a full hour of it,not just 30 minutes)and go to bed at 10pm.
WGN has been doing it for decades.
How did fox and all tbe other stations do in the latest ratings?

THV and Kark didn't have good AM Books. Kark took the biggest hit. Katv pick up what they lost.
I would just like to say that Joey the Garden Cat is just flat out adorable!
KATV won the morning books this period. They've done a pretty good job with turning that show around.
8:44 I don't know what you heard but THV was VERY disappointed with their AM book performance. I know because I work there.
KATV and THV will definitely be going head to head in the mornings from now on. Both shows really bring the fun to morning tv. Surprised KATV turned their morning show around so quickly. THV may take a hit with Faith leaving. I know as a viewer I enjoyed seeing where Faith would be "live" every morning. She was always doing something fun.
