It's Follow The Leader in Shreveport..
This from a tipster:
KSLA is following in the footsteps of KTBS. Starting Monday, KSLA This Morning will begin at 4:30AM.
We cover the TV News biz of Little Rock and the Ark-La-Tex(Shreveport,LA) AND Northwest Arkansas TOO!

What's new? KSLA has always followed whatever KTBS does.
Really? So we can now expect KSLA to hire a weather girl directly out of college? And a perverted crime reporter so ugly he can't be shown on camera? No that is KTBS.
No, they hired a man right out of college, and what are you talking about, crime reporter?
I think the poster is referring to Chris Redford. KTBS is using his stories and voice-over only. No image. Too many complaints about his unpleaant looks. Redford has not been on-camera in over a month.
There is somebody that Redford rejected stalking him on this website. There is nothing ever posted about Shreveport here that it does not start. I have seen them show Redford on camera within the past month.
I have noticed that too. I doubt it is any stalker. Look no further than The KTBS Newsroom for the culprits. He is not easy to work with.
Here we go with that Redford bashing crap again. I think the basher is probably covering up for their secret love for Redford.
Get a life! I don't like Redford, but he is a person. People are so cruel.
Also, stations throughout the country are starting their shows earlier and staying on later. KSLA is following the industry's trend, not KTBS.
Yep Chris Redford has been off the air. Wise move for KTBS.
I hardly tune in to local newscasts anymore, the local anchor-dorks deliver the news like cartoon characters to the point of it being laughable. This goes for all the stations. I prefer reading the paper as I get more depth than anything these bobble-heads deliver.
Most of these comments are not only wrong and ignorant, they're off topic. Wow, what a bunch of clowns...
I agree on three points here. The industry trend is 4:30 for local morning shows,Redford does need to be off the air and most of these post are off the subject. On this blog people never stay on the topic.
I went to the lake fishing this weekend...
Oh sorry......Off topic.......
So sick of reading the Redford bashing comments. I worked with him for six years. He is a good guy and there's nothing wrong with his looks. There are worse looking people in Shreveport and in other markets. And he's good at what he does. Personally, I wish he get a job in a much bigger market and be where he deserves!
I am no big fan of Redford, but he is not particularly ugly, and I figure the voice over work is because he is now operating the camera and can't be on both sides of it.
There is no fury like that of an admirer who has been rejected, and it is easy to recognize that the disturbed person who keeps posting the anti-Redford rants is suffering from such a fury.
These people can sometimes be dangerous, as per Ann Pressly the KATV anchor who was murdered by such a stalker.
Who cares what Chris Redford does? He has been in the same position at the same station for 10 years. Had he had offers from larger markets, he would have gone. No offers, no interest, no advancement. Let him do his crime beat reporting. He will be forced out soon enough.
Gotta say michelle and the new co anchor on channel 6 did an awesome job together Monday. For it being the first time working together they really kept the pace going. Seems everything fit well together news weather and sports. Channel 6 might have a winning team now.
I really hate to disappoint all the haters out there, but I have not been pulled off the air because of my looks.
I've been working a lot of different shifts lately... not that I owe this explanation to anyone at all, but as long as you're going to insist on bashing me every chance you get, I thought it necessary.
Since my looks are apparently so offensive... maybe I should opt for plastic surgery, but I've seen what it can do and it's not pretty. I'm sure there are some on here who can attest to that.
Why don't y'all just rename this site to Ihatechrisredford.com?
Just remember, anonymous or not, we're all held accountable for what we write.
Getting back on topic. I'm surprised it took KSLA this long to copy KTBS and move the morning show up to 4:30. KSLA has been copying KTBS for almost 20 years now.
I was just watching KSLA's news at noon. What a big steaming pile that was. Half the show did not go as scripted. Thought I was watching KTAL for a minute.
You are 100% correct Lindsey. I've been working in Shreveport broadcasting for almost 19 years now, and KSLA has been copying KTBS the entire time.
I also agree with you about KSLA's news at noon Wednesday and it was as bad as KTAL. It was so bad it was embarrassing to watch.
But hey...they get all "Howdy Doody" on the evening news at KSLA. Guess they figure it makes up for it.
A. Redford does a darn good job on the crime reporting. Regardless of what your opinions are about his looks, he's good. Sucks that you all can hide behind anonymity to tear down someone who hasn't done a thing to you!!!
B. None of the stations in Shreveport follow any of the other stations. Every station does what it does without regard for the others. KSLA doesn't need to follow anyone. If the ratings are any indication, they're doing just fine blazing their own path.
News Junkie It is always good to see other opinions. Forget the bad looks, Chris Redford is not a good reporter. KTBS has been shorthanded and is using every reporter they can use. Have you not noticed how much you see the new reporters?
KSLA's good points: On-Air Newsreaders & reporters are reflective of community.
KSLA's bad points: No real news depth and KSLA stands for "Keeps Soft on Local Authorities"... especially anything to do with Glover's administration.
KTBS's good points: Joe the Weather Guy does a good job without coming off like he's pontificating on the weather (unlike KSLA).
KTBS's bad points: Newsreaders & reporters not really reflective of the market demographics and managment couldn't care less. Station runs more station branding promos than any station I've ever watched... guess they can't sell the spots.
KTAL's good points: They're better than they've been in years...recent newsreader upgrades will improve news ratings.
KTAL's bad points: Nexstar's cost-cutting and nickel/dimimg & technical missteps will keep it from really being a strong contender in this market.
KMSS/KSHV/KPXJ . . . who really cares? These are just spots on the dial and their owners couldn't care less as long as they keep getting a check.
