interesting pick. will have to wait to see him behind tbe desk before I pass judgement but the live shot I saw him do was not impressive. multiple stumbles and he was stiffer than a snake in a refrigerator. maybe he was just a bit nervous but I miss the underappreciated justin earley.
Along the same lines, there is no pic or mention on their web site of Francis who recently went to WXIA-TV in Atlanta, GA. I really miss his drama and you know he could really have a time with the current heat wave.

@11:39 Mike Francis was at KARK, not Fox16 which is where Hubert Tate works.
And they did put up a story about Mike Francis leaving, it just happened close to a month ago now.
Guess I didn't make myself clear. I am well aware that Francis worked at KARK. I was meaning to say that there is no mention of Francis on the WXIA-TV, Atlanta, Georgia, web site. While we were in the subject of weather guessers.
but Tate isn't a weather-guesser. So you are still either confused or confusing.
If you think that the men/women on TV are predicting the weather all by them selves then you are living in a fantasy world. They take the official forecast (from official sources) and change it just a little to make it look like they are doing the forecasting themselves.
You are watching way to much TV. I guess you watch all those reality shows about being lost on an island somewhere too. Sad . . .

Well, as a viewer, I am disappointed most of the time with Kark's news show. It's usually just a rehash of old news.And that use to be my favorite station to watch.
You obviously haven't been watching lately.
Doesn't matter who the new anchor is at KLRT, Kelly Dudzik is all they need!!!
Even KARK's promos are getting old and they seem to be running promos in the prime time newscasts.
Why are they telling me that the news is in high definition. I have a high definition receiver and know it. I guess they are expecting people with standard definition receivers to flip the switch to the high definition mode.
Channel 7 had massive audio technical difficulties this weekend. The anchor looked like he stepped straight out of the movie Anchorman with his big hair.

KARK news looks so dated..late 90's or early 2000's. They should scrap and start over. KATV needs some updating on weekdays and ditch Pam on the weekends..she is just awful. KTHV has a better look but needs some better consistency in anchors. KLRT has a good look needs to gel better. DTerrell has to go..just awful..tired of her speaking to the audience like they are 3-year-olds.

Well said. One more scrapping that deserves mention is the "weather garden" that is used only to intro the weather then everyone goes inside. Amateurish lighting on the set in the weather garden and still looks like it was blown into LR from some other county via a tornado. Furniture looks really uncomfortable. Probably so poor in quality that they couldn't even do a trade out for it. "Weather garden", post-mounted camera resolution is pitiful. One suggestion would be to stretch a large scrim (a translucent material used in lighting) over the garden and filter some of that harsh light that is hitting it.

Fox will never "get rid" of donna terrell. Media people may not like her, but im sure she has a following and it would hurt more than help if she left. My thoughts.
Pam on katv on the other hand, she will never leave. Shes a fine anchor but you may not see someone else get an opp at that gig for a decade or more.
Kthv, pam on weekends is awful, new reporters too green and the AM show is being driven by a kid out of college. The show is awful.
Kark has some good people but some how never quite do it. Stop with your investigative promos. Dont care and when you compare the same story to another station, you found the same people to interview. You're not special.
Yeah. What tough questions do they ask that the other stations don't? And, we all know now it's in high definition. Promo dept has not had an original idea in decades.
Out of all the stations in town, I'd say KARK has produced the most memorable promos recently. I do see them airing a lot though and they are getting a bit old. I also agree that the "In High Definition" is getting old too.
I COMPLETELY disagree with THV's morning show. I have been a daybreak viewer, but the new team on THV is fabulous. I love it.
Agreed with the above poster. I find myself flipping between katv and THV in the mornings, but always end up staying on THV because I get drawn in. Katv has no substance in the mornings. The only reason I even try watching katv is to see Alyson.
Funny how the post of critique said nothing negative about 7 just all other stations. Gee I wonder where that person works.
7 looks horrible in SD! They need to go HD soon. They do, however, have the best weather department on social media in my opinion.

I cant believe I am entering the fray on this lame topic. but a poster did criticize katv's technical skills and an anchor's hair. I think that was what prompted the obsessed comment...since this was a fox blog. can we actually talk about hubert? I like him!
What was up with Alyse Eady not being mic'ed up and shoeless this morning? Did she oversleep? I am just curious and not trying to be negative, in fact, I think she adds a beautiful spark to THV's early morning broadcast. I thought the faux pas was cute and humorous,and she handled it with confidence and grace!

Sorta fits in with what KARK and KTHV have at present.
Mornings with Alyse on KTHV are a breath of fresh air for us all. She adds delight and beauty to the show. Is she a veteran? No, but she will be.
I agree. I think Tom, Ashley, and Alyse will do well. I'm sure if you work at a competing station, you disagree. I work for an agency, so I don't have an axe to grind. Just my opinion. Good job you three!
I love THV's morning show now, too. I think they have finally found the right mix of personalities. Saw the shoe/mic incident with Elyse too. Hilarious!

I asked one of the kthv coworkers about eady. She was there on time. Just lost track of time that morning. They have a new newsroom computer system so it was a crazy week. No harm, no foul. Plus, viewers love channel 11 because they're so down to earth. The no shoe/mic stunt will actually play to her advantage. Makes her look normal. If she wants a tv fan base, she HAS to come off REAL. No more pageant hair and wave. Ashly has mastered the art humility very well. She gets more popular by the week..
I met Alyse at one of the garden parties and she doesn't have a problem with humility. She was very personable and down to earth. I'm enjoying her on the show. I like Ashley but her mole is distracting IMO
Alyse is very nice to watch and she is getting to be a good host. She can interview very well and soon she will be able to do all the duties as a morning host is asked to do. Really compliments the show and seems very easy to work with.
About the mole that Ashley has, no problem. It's a beauty mark as far as I am concerned and you probably wish you looked as good as she.
KTHV will have the number one show on LR television for a long time with this combo of Tom, Ashley and Alyse. Hey, "Mornings with Tom, Ashley and Alyse" kinda has a ring to it.
Eady may be down to earth but she is still green on interviewing. She was jamming the mic in the face of an interviewee but wasn't listening to what he was saying. Her nervous laugh has got to go soon. I would like to see here ask real leading questions and RESPOND with a real response or follow-up questions rather than that nervous laugh. She hasn't earned her spot yet. Would like to her to be less visible until she gets more comfortable in front of the camera. I am a viewer, don't work (never worked for a media station).
I don't know Alyse from Adam and I've been a loyal THV viewer for 12 years. I had my doubts about alyse joining the show but I have been pleasantly surprised! She is so fun to watch and brings a lot of energy to the show. I don't think she has a nervous laugh at all. I even enjoy her interviews. I like seeing a pretty and youthful face on the show.
Ashley was " cutting edge" when she was promoted, but with the longer hairstyle now she is a clone and not an original. The pulled back ponytail is proof of how good she would look in a short haircut. It would be awesome !!!! It would add to her credibility and add to the show's personality.
In the land of KTHV brunettes, all with long hair, Ashley is hardly a clone. Yes her hair is a little longer then it was previously, but everything about her appearance and presentation is different than the other gals at THV. Besides her ponytail gives her the short hairstyle look that she rocks so successfully. In a sea, of brunettes and sameness she stands out.
Ashley's hair is getting more pub than the new anchor at KLRT. Strange but true!!!

She is the "difference" in the thv difference. I have taken the time to get to know her and not only has she breathed life into the morning show, but she is just a good hearted person. In this business that is "cutting edge."

Hello lighting director, production manager, chief engineer or whomever at KTHV. Please put a scrim over that weatherman's light(s) in the garden. The camera shot looks like Hell.
I've given Hubert a little time...he is just plain awful. I'm sure he is a nice guy though.
