Shreveport Marketing Director Gone
This from a tipster: Looks like another exit at KTBS as the new Marketing Director for both KTBS / KPXJ has left the building. Those in the know aren't sure if it was by choice or a mutual agreement but this person was there for a little over a year and didn't last. There was some hint that after this person took the gig... they were surprised by all the other duties added on to their job-function.

If you only knew the half of it. No one will ever last as Marketing Director at KTBS/KPXJ if management continues to run things the way they are now.
The local sales manager, and less importantly, a technical director, have also recently left by their own decision. It's no secret almost everyone there wants to leave. It's obvious The station manager is driving everyone out the door with his terrible decisions and lies. The only thing keeping KTBS afloat are the wonderful owners, the Wray family.
Station Manager George Sirven has something up his sleeve, but we don't know what it is yet, but it won't be good.
Sally got a job with a local hospital's marketing department.

Anyone else notice Fred Childers/KSLA missing the boat on the manhunt story Friday night? Childers apparently forgot to check before news time. KTBS and KTAL bothe led with the capture. Sloppy work.
I agree that George Sirven thinks he knows how to run everything about a news station, but he doesn't. Quick turnover in news is common, but that station has the quickest I've ever see in my two decades of working in broadcast. If it's broke, FIX IT.
Send here over here to KTAL. She could probably run the marketing/ promotions and also work out the technical glitches and do a better job than some over here. KTAL is becoming a joke. Please wake up management and Nexstar.
KTAL has always been a joke. KTAL's news runs slow, and you promote things you don't even do any more.
I agree with one of the previous poster. Yes, there is a lot of turn over in broadcasting, but the turn over at KTBS is crazy. I have also been in broadcasting for two decades, and I have never seen turn over like they have at KTBS. If the Wray's really wanted to fix the station they would get rid of "The George" and hire a new GM. Of course that will never happen.
I agree. Our Marketing and Promotions at KTAL is horrible. Sally could not do a worse job then what Mike and Jonathan are doing right now.
Yes, the turn over at KTBS is disturbing to say the least. I have worked in broadcasting for almost thirty years, and I have never seen any thing like it in any market.
Yep Childers & KSLA got skunked by the captured robbery suspect story. Redford on KTBS was out in the field doing a phone report on the capture while "Howdy-Doodie Simon" and Childers yapped "live" from the newsroom about the suspect still being at large. Doesn't anyone at KSLA monitor the other broadcasts? The KTBS story aired before their "Live Up-to-the-minute coverage". I'd say they were skunked big-time.
KTAL could always make MeeShell "Hand puppets" and give those away at Mudbug Madness as a marketing gimmick. When I accidentally land on KTAL news and see her extremely animated delivery... I ask myself: WTF??
The kids who get the puppets could send in a YouTube of their MeeShell impersonations to win a prize.

Are you kidding? The way Sirven runs the station is the direct refelction of the Wray family...they don't care what he does as long as they keep getting their money. The Wrays put Sirven in place for a reason and Edwin has deflected criticism by saying "George makes me money". Get a grip folks... until the income statements start looking weak, nothing will change.
11:06 AM is 100% correct. The Wray's making their money is for doing absolutely nothing is all that matters. That is why so many of us have either quit, or been laid off.
Yeah, there's a lot of dead weight related to the Wray family on the payroll. Come to think of it, there's a couple of people in the newsroom making a nice check, that I can't even tell you what they do.
Might be why they had to hire a Weather girl with zero experience, and just as much on the ball, she works cheap!
You hit the nail on the head. The Wray family and their fake job security is why so many of us no longer work there. I was a very loyal employee, and I never thought in all of the years I worked there, I would ever see anything like this. I even bought all of my cars at the dealership. I traded my last car in and will never deal with the Wray's in the future.
KTAL is being pulled into the Little Rock Hub

The master control ops will be ran from Little Rock...their Asst Hub manager must have gotten fed up with Nexstar's ways..he left after being there after almost 30 years.
Even there is hear say WTWO is coming to LR,
the GM must get a pretty good payout for saving money.
This won't succeed as a matter of fact, that's exactly what I consider.
