Yet Another Out at KNWA
This from a tipster: Meghan Dill of knwa has put in her two weeks. she is leaving the bisiness to pursue a career as a pharmaceutical salesperson.
We cover the TV News biz of Little Rock and the Ark-La-Tex(Shreveport,LA) AND Northwest Arkansas TOO!

Can't blame her, just look at the place she is working.
A sinking ship, no matter how you slice/dice it.
Yet another??? Who has left there in a while? Seems to ne they are the tightest ship in the market. Turnover has not been an issue there for sometime. Yea if you want to say it's not a good thing to move home and make more money than a small market can get you.
What's the Dill?
Guess she couldn't find any more TV products to test out for her segment. Ahhh, investigative reporting at its best. Oh, wait, this is Northwest Arkansas. Just read the newspaper and report it on the news that night like it's your own. Don't make a phone call, don't even dare show up to a public official's office, just summarize a story in the paper that morning in two or three sentences and splice in some file footage.
I HATE the media up here.
KNWA has the best talent but it won't stay that way very long. I have been in the business for 14 years and have seen some good ones come and go. Plenty of shops put together a nice roster for a short while but eventually they leave one by one. What separates a quality station and a poor one is the company's willingness to pay talented reporters and anchors enough money so they don't look elsewhere.
11:28, Whitney Ray is the only on-screen talent I know of that's left recently.
But... pharmaceutical sales???
clearly she just couldn't get another position in tv news.
Clearly she wanted a job in a more stable, lucrative business. I haven't noticed turnover at KNWA to be a problem for a while now. Those that are leaving have been there a while. It seems to me that it wouldn't matter how much you pay a person. A smaller market is where good reporters hone their skills to go to bigger markets. Two or three years is a a good tenure. I honestly would worry about the career of reporters who are stagnate in one place for an extraordinary amount of time. Oh, and if she is moving closer to home, you can't blame her at all. The call of home has little or nothing to do with working conditions at a current job.
mickey goodwin will save the day.
Meg will be missed. She is a good reporter and a nice person.
Meghan is a great reporter and person! She has an opportunity to be close to family with a good job opportunity. Anything else posted on this blog is rhetoric!
is her name meghan dillweed?
wow, that's really grown up and just hilarious. dill is her last name.
Good move. Don't know her but can't go wrong getting out of this business.
No more "Where's the Dill?"
What will my life be without finding out about all those new products?
I cant believe she is leaving, who's next Liz Hogans?
Megan Dill a nice person? Maybe i she took the stick out and got rid of the "I'm perfect" attitude. A snoot all the way.
8:06 PM certainly mustn't know Meghan, or they wouldn't post such a thing. Idiots.
I don't know about 8:06, but I know Meghan enough to know she's snobby, has zero personality and is totally into herself.
And I know enough to know there's another piece of talent at KNWA/FOX that's a total NUTCASE! Psycho. I mean, slashing ex-boyfriend's tires and stuff before she didn't finish at U of A.
Finally, an idiot is gone!
I just hope she takes neile jones clown-whore makeup with her before Matt decides to wear more of it.
Jason, are you out of the closet yet?
the dillweed is out of arkansas
I do not no Meghan Dill nor do I care to know her.
I do know people in pharaceutical sales make 2 to 3 times more than an NWA reporter.
Work less, make more.
You're right about the pay, especially when you recieve a quarterly bonus; however, there's a lot of work involved in that job. It's not as easy as you think.
When is Craig Cannon going to leave KHBS? I am tired of watching his old face read the news of the day.
He will leave at the same time Darren Bob quits shaking his neck fat at KFSM

amen
Craig will quit the same day Neile can't blink or open her mouth due to excessive botox treatments.

Things changed awhile ago, get with the times.
clown-whore? Ha-ha-ha-ha...that's pretty good! "clown whore" -- yup, it works, doesn't it.
I agree with the last comment. If you are going to run your mouth about someones product then at least take a look after leadership changes happen. Brook was a great choice and the product has improved greatly.
Long gone are the paper days. Check in with us now. We're happy and the products is leaps and bounds better.
Its easy to work at KNWA.
Heres your work day
9:00 am Get to work, pour cup of coffee.
9:30am Have sydney call KARK to see what they are doing today
11:45am Go to lunch
1:00pm return from lunch and call KARK again to see what nightside is doing.
3:30pm Call KARK again and request all of their stories from the A block.
3:33pm Call KARK and bitch about not getting the A block stories fed at that moment.
3:45pm See 3:33pm
4:00pm refer to 3:33pm
5:00pm put on a newcast that KARK sent to you.
5:30pm after a long hard day go home and think about how hard you worked.
KNWA is the best plcae to work on the planet!!
Oh snap! That is going to start a major fight between KNWA and KARK. Let the games begin!
No fight here. We are just glad we have partners and you don't. It's great having the biggest news organization in the state. Resources are huge. We are live and more events. We have two sat trucks and whether you like it or not we get along very good. Frustrating at times yes, but without we operate as a team.
It's a team effort. We share many things, including sports. Obviously, someone outside our stations wants to see us bicker like the other stations. Sorry, we don't stoop.
mickey goodwin should be named miss knwa of the year.
11:30pm has some sort of bitterness or jealousy problem. Your joke isn't slightly funny. (BTW, I am not affiliated with any TV station)
You people will not break us. KARK/KNWA is like peanut butter and jelly. You cannot have one without the other. Keep trying but we will stay strong.
We work well together. Of course, there will be little issues, but nothing major.
The bond will not be broken. We are a band of brothers.
Outsiders need to stay away cuz we aint got no time for yo B.S.!
Band of brothers? You people are retarded
peanut butter will constipate or give you diarrhea and jelly will make you fat or rot your teeth.
yep..... that's knwa
please stop this post...it has gone beyond obsurd.
Megan is the best winter weather reporter in the state. I don't know how we'll get by without her next time we have any snow.
Who is the best summer weather reporter?
That would be Michelle Rupp.

Actually, since neither of the stations subscribe to AP, you have the smallest news organization in the state.
Don't get the KNWA/KARK relationship twisted. They're hardly "sister stations" beyond sharing a sports department (for the money) and a noon newscast (also for the money.) The stations have the same relationship as KHBS has with KATV and KFSM has with KTHV. Just because Nexstar has tight purse strings doesn't make you a news behemoth. More like conjoined twins.. sharing the same liver, lungs, e.t.c.

Uh, last I checked, KARK was doing the switching for KNWA. Hardly a little more than sharing a couple of shows. Still, another hurdle to overcome for both.
Many things in tv are for money. Otherwise, how would anyone get paid?
And now, looks like Gannett is tightning the belt at THV with moving their switching to the Carolinas. Won't make up for being stuck in the VHF band with DT and all the noise that goes with it.
Doug Currin is leaving KNWA for an nexstar station in pennsylvania
that's too bad. currin's a good guy. though i'm surprised he stayed with nexstar.

And now you have KATV operating on KTHV's aux tower while using KWBF's sub channel. Could anyting look worse?
After KATV moves to the "mountain" that will leave only KASN out of the picture.
