I actually liked Katie and will miss her. Jancey and Katie are my two favorite personalities on KARK. My only complaint was she never smiled enough while doing reports, but had a great smile when she anchored sometimes on weekends. If this is true, I will miss you, Katie
Katie is leaving because she wanted the morning anchor job that Melissa has.
Katie also wanted the KNWA morning job that Ginny Barksdale got.
Looks like Katie is a legend in her own mind.
i'm sure katie's skin is thick enough to not be insulted by some part time tape editors making $6 an hour wishing they were leaving for a much better job.

Katie Nielsen's contract expired and she wanted to try anchoring, so she was hired to anchor in another market. I wish her well in her new job. She was an adult and professional, unlike most of those posters here who feel they need to condemn and attack her.

Well I just checked out the websites for all the Reno television stations (NBC,ABC, CBS, FOX) and no listing or news of Katie yet
On KARK's morning show they let a PA do the weather today. She's a nice looking chic.

She did a Job for the Columbia Missouri Police department whereby she conspired to FRAME AN INNOCENT MAN FOR A SERIES OF CRIMES HE DID NOT COMMITT.
The Columbia Police Department handed Katie Nielsen her Broadcast career on the back of an innocent man.
Some broadcaster. She is a Phony.
She moved to nevada to get as far away from Missouri in case the Missouri case "blows up".
She could be arrested and extradited back to Missouri for FRAUD and PERJURY.
