Main Anchors MIA
I have received several e-mails asking where all the main Little Rock news anchors are. Christina Munoz from KATV, Jancey Sheets and Brett Cummings from KARK and Liz Massey from KTHV are all off. My explanation is November sweeps are on the way and management forced them to take the time off before sweeps period.

Don't know about the rest but Munoz is on assignment. Heaven forbid they take some time off though.

I've never been allowed to take time off in the days leading up to the book.
Could it be there is no space left on the desk for Liz?
Management doesn't usually "force" people to take time off. You use the time or you lose it.
Brett and Jancey are on vacation. You'll see them both back next week.
Same goes for those in NWA...not as noticible, though. Anchors, production people are smart, they need to rest up, because there won't be much time to catch your breath in November!
It's off topic (much like everything else around here), but could somebody explain to me WTF is up with the "winter storm" schtick and why y'all think it's so funny?
WINTER STOOORM! Is the way former chief meteorologist Charles Salser from 40/29 used to actually "say" the word. Over the years, it has become somewhat of a joke in NWA.
It was funny the first 5 times we heard it, but I'll admit it is getting old now, especially now that Charles has moved on and is no longer in the business.
Liz might be out "job hunting" in time for the big reveal next week ;)
Rest up? Are you kidding? Anchors and production people that never leave the building need to rest up? C'mon.
The thing about THv is we won't know exactly how things will play out until after the Feb. book. They will use and abuse Liz while Dawn in on maternity leave. When Dawn returns, the fate of Liz, Andy, or Anne will come down the pipe. They can only afford 3 weather people, but it's ok to have 4 main anchors? I think their priorities are weird.
The only stable news they have is the THV morning show. I heard Robyn and Tom are both up for renewal. Are they dumb enough to let them get away?

If Robyn and Tom don't re sign a contract, then BJ will find a way to get out of his. Then they will have to start all over again.

HA! That's a laugh. The creativity of show stems from the ideas brought forth and implemented by Robyn and Tom. Always has, always will. The producer has to held in check most of the time. Apparently you didn't know that Robyn is the EP of the morning show?
THV Management has what they want in Dawn. They don't care what happens to Tom or Robyn... they don't need them anymore. With the current lineup at 5, 6 and 10 they hope to add a few ratings points to cover the loss in the mornings. Yes, THV will have to start over again with Liz and BJ and possibly Becky. It's all about saving a few bucks here and hopefully making more there.

I heard a rumor today that Anne Jansen has told station management that she does NOT want a contract renewal after hers expires in 6 months. No word on whether THEY had intended to offer an extension.

Enough already! THERE is about to be a bidding war.
I only pray "media peeps" are not the ones making such gross errors.
I would hope noone would make such an error however if that were the case AR would have to give up the prized medal for being the most illiterate state each and every year.

Tomorrow is the Yawn ---Oops I meant Dawn of a new day. Sure are a lot of women over there at 11---Anne, Liz, Robyn and now Dawn. Maybe they are going to bring the View to the nightly news like KATV did with their morning show last year. Hope Craig, Andy and BJ can handle all the estrogen! Management might want to add another feminine hygiene dispenser in the women’s room.
I heard a rumor that the PD’s at 4 and 7 are celebrating even though the format change has not yet been announced. This must be a joke but someone said that Fox 16 was considering 6 & 10PM newscasts to catch all of the defecting viewers. Sounds like Today’s THZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz's.
Excuse me, 6 month non compete claus in Little Rock. It only means you can't be on the air for 6 months. It doesn't mean you can't work across the street for 6 months.
Where is Jennifer Haile? I usually don't watch 40/29. I am not complaining I really like waking up and seeing that hottie Tiffany Stewart in the mornings she is so hot especially when she puts her hair up.
Jennifer had a baby. She's back at work now.
