Nexstar Working with Comcast to Keep KARK on Cable in LR

Pretty article over at Arkansas Business.com about the fight to keep KARK on cable in the Little Rock market. To sum it up, Nexstar exec Duane Lammers blames the other stations in Little Rock for keeping the stink stirred up that KARK will be leaving Little Rock cable come January 1, 2006. KARK GM Rick Rogala doesn't beat around the bush who is stirring up the stink. Check out this quote from the article:

“You have some television stations in that marketplace that are trying to confuse the advertisers and use our position against us, which is very unfortunate and very unprofessional, and it’s just too bad,” Lammers said. “But that’s just kind of what I would expect from people like Allbritton. I hope you quote me on that.”

Of course Allbritton is the parent company of KATV. Read the full article HERE.

I figured this would be big news on here. The Nexstar dude calls KATV "bottomfeeders" and nobody has anything to say?

I guess it's all true.

Oh Duane, you have not changed since the day you walked in KARK front doors. Maybe this explains why Nexstar's stock is in the sewer!
Keep pointing your fingers at your competitors Duane and maybe Perry will begin to point fingers at you as KARK continues to fall apart. Haven't seen any Dodge commercials on KARK lately, or Ashley's furniture..or...??? What happened Duane? Who are you going to blame that on????

The following comes from the article....
"Although the allegations made by Nexstar and KARK are steep, Rogala insists that there has not been a decrease in sales due to the retransmission disagreement"

So here is my question....does that mean their sales could not have gotten any lower?

Word on the street is KARK's revenue have dropped 1/3 since Nexstar starting operating the station. That is a lot of cash! Maybe that explains why they are on their 3 set of sales managers.

Nexstar's stock price is at $4.29 per share this week. Their IMO in November, 2003 was at $14.00.
What would Mr. Lammers say about that?
