Robyn Richardson returned to her post this morning as co-host of Today's THV This Morning. Richardson had been on maternity leave following the birth of her son Parker Vail Richardson.

The other morning shows had a chance to make headway, while Robyn was gone, but neither one did. Now there's no way to beat KTHV in the mornings. What an amazing tactical error by KATV and KARK.

I missed Tom this morning. It's just not the same without him.

It was nice to have Robyn back, but, she still needs to lose 40 pounds.

BJ, Robin, and Tom. There has been a better match then that since Lorie and Ron hosted Daybreak oh so many years ago when it was good.

Don't forget Ron and Susan Roberts too. She is now with CBS news in Washington.

They make my morning...gotta watch.

welcome back shrek...errr...robyn. how many more of those kids are you planning on squeezing out?

I would almost pay Robyn to read the phone book :)

Not only is she attractive, she is also talented.

Also wonder if KLRT is seriously thinking about taking mornings seriously (instead of slapped E/I kiddy shows, Informercials, and Andy from Mayberry).

Yes I love the show. The uncomfortable silence is to die for.

KTHV morning show is network quality. Even Katie and Matt are not as fun to watch as BJ, Robyn and Tom. I'm afraid another market will snatch them up and ruin my mornings!

At 9:06 PM, September 26, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

They have chemistry. The formula works and they have the ratings to show for it. I watch it instead of the evening news.

At 9:06 PM, September 26, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I think we're safe from the networks or larger markets "snatching" up the KTHV morning crew.

The Little Rock Market has not seen network quality talent in years. Ron Blome (4) does some freelance work for CNBC (if that counts as a network), Geoff Morrell (7) is doing weekends at ABC, Susan Roberts (7) is doing network feed pieces for CBS and I've seen Randy Kaye (7) doing some hurriance coverage for The Weather Channel and CNN. Haven't seen David Schuster (7) in a while, but he was doing some work for Fox News, then MSNBC.

When was the last time someone from 11 went to any network?

Best bet for current Little Rock talent to move up.... Scott Inman of KATV is the best in the market, bar none.

BJ, Robin and Tom are well liked by the LR-TV audience. Awkward moments and all - they are fun to watch.

Scott Inman has shown remarkable improvement as an anchor. It might be nice to see him do some actual reporting. It seems the female anchors do their fair share, but he is always behind the desk.

Someone in this market that had network potential was Steve Barnes.

Robyn isn't as hot as she used to be, but none of us are! Words to live by there kiddies. Melroy

I know for a FACT that there is a member of the THV morning crew that is being heavily pursued by larger markets than Little Rock.

Thanks to the poster above who used "BJ" and "snatch" in the same paragraph.

rob hatfield is the sexiest technical director yet at KTHV...they need to do bumb shots in the morning to show off his huge muscles

Rob Hatfield is a beast. He's the kind of guy you don't want to meet in a dark alley.

yeah, i know rob hatfield really well. by far the best td i've ever seen - the way he pushes those buttons. its just so hot.

Melinda has been married more that once? I don't think so.

BJ Sams got the call to be the replacement for Rather.

BJ, Robyn & Tom are better.

The bigger markets are working hard to tease away at least one behind-the-scenes person -- but I don't know about the anchors.

Isn't BJ older than Dan Rather?

"...I think we're safe from the networks or larger markets "snatching" up the KTHV morning crew."

Well, then you don't as much as you think you know, so basically, you are not in the know.

If you had half a clue about anchors in this market you'd know that most are bound by contract, So they aren't going to say anything that would endanger their current situation. Chances are, you're not going to know until it actually appears as a news hit on this blog that states "So & So from Station X is leaving to pursue a better life for their family." Then, you can all bash that person for being a sucky anchor and that they weren't well liked or they wore the wrong hair style or make up...you can bash them all the way to a top ten market if you wish.

"...Isn't BJ older than Dan Rather?"

No, BJ is younger than Rather. Dan turns 74 on Oct. 31st. I guess you don't know a joke when you read one?

BJ Sams is by far the best male anchor, He's well liked, he's got a great appearance, professional, and he even knows how to have fun. On top of that, he's good people. The man could write a book about his life and it would be a best-seller, haven't you heard all of his stories, and what happened to him in Hawaii??? He's been there, done that, got the T shirt and now he needs to write the book! I assure you you'll laugh and you'll cry.

At 7:05 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

You know KATV fired BJ for a reason. Heck, KTHV demoted him to the morning show, and then something strange happened. He found an audience.

At 7:16 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yes, I realize that. Dale fired him some 30 years ago. BJ went to Hawaii and then came back and anchored with Anne at night. Gannett came in and bought 11, then moved him to mornings... Blah, Blah what else do you want to know?? I'm sure that Dale would love to have BJ, Robyn and Tom right now, because they have taken away ratings from the ranch. As long as BJ, Robyn & Tom are there, 7 will not win that time period.

At 7:19 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Whoever is making negative comments about BJ Sams needs to chill. I can't imagine anybody trying to make BJ look bad. It's sad how sour grapes brings out the evil in people.

At 7:24 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

The negative comments about BJ are obviously coming from KATV. Well, I used to watch your news in the evening, but you just lost a viewer. I'm now a THV viewer morning and evening. The sour grapes blog is probably true. How could you brag about KATV firing BJ Sams? That kind of makes me sick.

At 9:30 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Don't forget KATV also fired Andy, about 80 pounds ago.

At 10:03 AM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

BJ is #1 in my book. He is a good and decent man. I have the utmost respect for him and I'm proud to call him a friend. THV is lucky to have someone as like BJ representing the company.

KTHV certainly out-classes everyone else in this market, at least on the morning show.

One of KATV's biggest mistakes. Andy is HANDS DOWN the strongest male anchor in this market and NO THIS IS NOT ANDY posting this. As an industry outsider, it's great fun to see how all you folks bash each other. What a pitiful, shallow group of individuals with apparently nothing better to do with your time......

At 4:49 PM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

No kidding about the out class. It's pretty pathetic to brag about firing people. I am also an outsider and sense a lot of arrogance from KATV. Not a good way to gain viewers.

At 5:40 PM, September 28, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

I'm an outsider... looking in.... wonder what it would be like to be in and looking out... but then turning around and look back in again.

BJ has a heart of gold. Anyone willing to act like he's not worth his salt can kiss my a$$.

I can tell your an industry outsider. Because if you wor in the newsroom you would see that Andy is the laziest person you will ever meet. It seems his ego grow proportionatly with his waiste line.

Andy's contract includes a daily box of Krispy Kreme doughnuts. And he speaks very softly.. like he's trying to whisper in our ears!

Hey folks, thanks for the nice words. I only wish the donuts thing was true. I love this site. i check it first thing when I walk in the door. it gives me something to do before I have to read what the producers write.

Thanks.

Andy is dreamy.... big and warm and soft and cuddly. Like your favorite chair.

At 6:45 AM, September 30, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Naw...my chair does more work then Andy.
1)It's supportive around the office.
2)It can be counted on when I need to reach the top shelf.
3)It has never eaten anybodys lunch out of the break room firdge.
4) It has never talked bad about a co-worker.
5) It hangs around until the all the work is done.

Typical posts from a bunch of small and medium market rejects that currently house the THV newsroom. Hell, half the newsroom has never worked at another station. I'm an insider and can tell you that if the KTHV newsroom would spend half the time they do gossiping, b*tiching and whining, they would bury Channel 7. It has ALWAYS been their problem.

At 7:39 AM, October 04, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Apparently it's not a problem for the morning show.

I've known B.J. for 20 years - while he has overcome many problems in his life - he's still lazy. I remember a producer years ago asking B.J. to help write a script - he said "that's not my job" and continued to work on his crossword puzzle. He's only a reader and if the teleprompter goes down - he's screwed. Robin and Tom have made B.J. Sams

At 10:57 PM, October 27, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That was years ago, man. The guy produces and writes much of the noon show.

I'm not saying he'd Edward R. Murrow but I wouldn't call him lazy. You must not know much about TV because no one works hard in TV compared to many jobs. There are some people who are busier than others, but none of it is hard.

The petty anchor-bashing is really getting old. People need to worry about the work they're doing and nothing more. It helps you from becoming a bitter, anonymous poster.

At 10:59 PM, October 27, 2005, Anonymous Anonymous said...

That's true. You are a true THV'er if you remember and hold grudges about something that happened "years ago."

Is something lacking in your life that you can't let go of things?
