KARK Gets New General Manager

Arkansas Business.com is reporting Rick Rogala, a career television veteran, is to take over the General Manager's post at KARK effective immediately.

Brian Jones, a senior vice president at Nexstar’s Irving, Texas headquarters, tells Arkansas Business.com, “Rick has experience running some of the finest television stations in the country,” Jones said. “Add to that his excellent motivational and leadership skills, and we have hired someone uniquely qualified to grow KARK into a market leader.”

Rogala most recently has been running his own media-consulting firm in Carmel, Ind. The firm, Rogala & Associates, a consultancy that provides executive coaching, sales and marketing training and other services.

Rogala has previously served as general manager at WXIN-TV (Fox) in Indianapolis, WFLA-TV (NBC) in Tampa, Fla., WLWT-TV (NBC) in Cincinnati and WZZM-TM (ABC) in Grand Rapids, Mich. Rogala also worked in various sales management positions at television stations in Dallas, St. Louis and Pittsburgh.

Rogala replaces Perry Chester who was fired in June.
