KATV To Carry Crowning of Miss Arkansas Saturday
Yep it's time to crown a new Miss Arkansas and like
in years past KATV will carry the crowning live Saturday night. Competition begins Wednesday night at 7:30 at the Summit Arena in the Spa City and will wrapup Saturday with the crowning of the new Miss Arkansas Saturday night.

Does KATV own the rights to cover this pageant, or can the other stations be there as well? Just curious.
KATV has all the hot babes, I know that. Just think about it -- Beth, Nicole, Kate, Christina, Jessica -- it's like a pageant every day.
Best of my knowledge they don't have the rights.
Anyone can cover it live. KARK has covered it in the past. KATV has just kinda taken it under its wings over the years. By the way, did you hear KATV'S tease for the pageant on Wednesday. Said something like... "We'll tell you how Hot Springs is coping with the crowds that come with the pageant." First of all, there are no huge crowds down there. And second of all, Hot Springs wouldn't be "coping with it" they would welcome the business down there.
Coping is just another way to say "handling" or "dealing with" or "processing." It need not have a negative slant
Saw Miss Arkansas on Daybreak this morning. Wasn't Capris a "Miss Some State?" I thought I heard that one day on the show. I thought it was odd she didn't say anything or didn't go to Hot Springs. That beauty pagent circuit is pretty tight. BTW, I really like Jason Pederson. He rounds out the team and his personal comments are appropriate. The girls can get to chatty.
Pretty obvious who wrote the above comments. Get back to work Jason Pederson. You come off over the air as a know it all. Just another reason I choose KARK over KATV.

I belive Beth Hunt alone can do a better job on that show than all the other 3.

Does anyone know why KATV can do promos/ads for local business and the other reporters from the other networks don't/can't?
Beth Hunt did so well at the Saturday 10 PM weekend news spot they should get rid of Pam Smith!!!
