You've got to admit, it does make you smile. I remember getting insane phone calls when I worked overnights in TV. Also, heaven forbid if weather interrupted a viewer's TV show. LOL

Well to be fair, that logo hasn't always been the same.

Someone needs to tell kark's razorback nation to stop doing the same stories about LPGA women's golf tournament up in Bentonville . Nobody cares about in central Arkansas .

Don't question the Nexstar plan. They know what is best for central Arkansas.

The peacock has been the same since tv went to color in 1955. You are correct, KARK is always changing its logo in hopes that will make them number 2 in the market.

Did hear about kfsm's managing editor doing a story for the Benton county judge to avoid jail time. Here is the link to the story http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/arkansas-station-denies-judge-assigned-a-story-as-part-of-plea-deal/150414

I think in the late 90s KARK just had a white 4 on a red background.

Just make it Razorback Red. That's the only color that matters to KARK viewers anyway.

Nope. I can assure you TV did not go "to color in 1955." It was still B&W in those days; no network or station was broadcasting in color.
NBC went full color in the late 60's or early 70's.

Sorry. you are right. It wasn't in 1955, it was 1956.

You are getting closer. Try again . . .

According to NBC, it's 1956. Of course, you are probably right.

9:27 probably thinks it started broadcasting color when his mom finally bought a color tv.

"Around here if you see a peacock it is probably with a fox".

(Nexstar joke)

They have color tv's now? I have been missing out! Time for an upgrade! Honey get out the Sears catalog!

Channel 4 News now in High Definition.

It's only been 6 years since analog was shut off. Guess they will brag for 10 years on this new technology marvel.

No, it's still new to them.

Audio man/woman had problems on THV tonight. Twice late with the mic.

Bugs invaded the weather garden during the opening of the weather segment.

Three degree guarantee? Isn't it more like a 6 degree guarantee? Three either side of center?

Didn't KARK try this about a decade ago. Only theirs was a 4 degree guarantee which was actually an 8 degree guarantee.

Yes and Ed was singing the praises of Sarah doing a great job on the 3 degree guarantee earlier this week. All you have to do is look at what NOAA says and pick a degree hotter or cooler. They act like they make the weather lol

At 2:34 PM, July 10, 2015, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Nope. They just read what the NOAA says on the weather wire, change it just a little, throw in a little patter and viola, it's their guess.

ANYONE can be a "Met" and report what they think the weather is going to be like. If they miss it, they just laugh about it.

Hey, they are just trying to get the full bang for their buck on the cost of the news intro. It's only been running for years now. Haven't had an original idea in the promo department since Carl Tibbits left in the early 70's.
What? Don't remember Carl? Haven't been in the business very long, have you. Get out while you are young.

Ever notuce how the anchors will ask the Met if they can do anything about this hot weather and act all sad when they say its gonna be hot for a while? Its hot every summer, we live in the South!

At 9:35 PM, July 10, 2015, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Yeah, but it does make for that "Happy Talk" that anchors (and I really can't stand that term)have to make to keep the show going.

Question: Why does it take two people to read the news which consists mainly of all the killings, shootings that have happened in the past 24 hours?

It sure was. Why did they?
