KOLR10, while being Nexstar and the #2 station is full of good people. Lindsay Clein is the best.

Hate to see Heather go, but I wish her all the best in her new anchor position. FSM's loss is Springfield's gain. Good luck Heather!

Such an ongoing train wreck at that station.

Ashley Ketz and Ashley Beck used to be on the same morning show. Hella confusing. Ketz gets promoted to the evening news then soon afterwards leaves for Missouri then to Little Rock and gets her teeth fixed somewhere along the way.

Ashley Beck moves up to the evening news in August of 2012. Not sure she was up to it at 1st but she really grew into the role. Then in January 2013 she gets a DUI. KFSM reports on it then a few days later airs a tearful apology along with a brief suspension.

Somewhere in here the male KFSM weekend anchor also got a DUI and was never seen or mentioned again.

In October 2014 Beck disappears then reappears with a Facebook post about being in the hospital.

In January 2015 Beck disappears again from the station and all social media. KFSM only notes that Beck is on a leave of absence and Garrett Lewis makes some Facebook comments saying no one at the station had heard from her in months and her absence was being handled by corporate.

May 31st, Liza Danver is announced as the new co-anchor for evening news. Two weeks later she is arrested on suspicion of DUI. She has not been seen on-air since and all mentions of her have been removed from KFSM. On June 23rd weekend anchor Katelynn Zoellner joins Daren Bobb on the evening newscasts. There is no indication if this is permanent move.

Ashley Beck reemerges on social media in mid-June posting a few photos and changing her location to Los Angeles.

KFSM has had a job posting for morning anchor since May. With Heather Lewis leaving they are probably back to Laura Simon who filled in when Lewis was pregnant. Simon has been anchoring weekend mornings and has improved notably but is still shaky.

Then there are the plights of Mitch Roberts and Jay Plyburn. The firing of Mike Irwin and the entire KFSM sports department. Most recently it's Larry Henry tweeting the verdict from a murder trial and some rumored shady dealings with the judge to avoid jail time from contempt of court.

It's becoming clear why everyone there leaves or starts drinking.

I wish Ashley Ketz had stayed in Missouri.

Heather, you will be sorry that you joined a Nexstar station. But good luck!

So where did you lose your job when you worked for Nexstar?

I didn't lose my job. I just know how they operate.

Your best bet is to get out of broadcasting while you are young and get with an industry that will provide a good retirement for you. You will not retire from a station unless you are very, very fortunate and among the 10% that do.

They use to say that about US Postal Service.

Probably still do. It's turning into a robotic world. Jobs lost because of automation and it will get worse.

With all the problems Kfsm has had with the Talent. ( Beck, and Liza Danver ) and now a much improved Heather Lewis leaving, a new reporter Esther Katro could possibly help them out. She is very comfortable in front of the camera, and in my opinion does a great job. She is attractive, and has good energy. In a perfect world that shouldn't matter, but don't kid yourself, it does.

Heather isn't leaving to be close to fam. Legal issues with station. Mgmt is horrible there.

That is 100% untrue. Her husband is from Missouri and they specifically looked for jobs in Springfield.

God I hope not...she would fall in line with the other two. Besides she isn't that good...even though she finally did something with her hair, doesn't mean she's improved. Please say November....lmao.

I know there are people that like her, but she just isn't eye candy.

Did hear about kfsm's managing editor doing a story for the Benton county judge to avoid jail time. Here is the link to the story http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/arkansas-station-denies-judge-assigned-a-story-as-part-of-plea-deal/150414

Is he the same guy who hired short timer Liza Danver? Also, with Darren Bobb gone this week, they've got Aubry Killion in Darren's seat and Kaitlynn doing menial reporting from Fayetteville when she sat with Darren last week. Leave it to KFSM to be as inconsistent as possible or at least leaving the viewers with questions.

No, the last ND hired him.

One word about anchors: consultants.

Fairly sure KFSM only leads the ratings because 1) a large portion of their viewers don't know how to use a remote or 2) are like me on an antenna and only reliably pick up 1 station.

Honestly, all the news stations suck here. I think 5 is probably the least of the evils. Love Garrett, loved Drew. 40 is so dumb for letting Drew go. Stupid.
