Jonesboro already had a Fox affiliate closer to northeast Arkansas. It was from Memphis.

Since its a Fox station, I don't see why it can't just air the news out of Memphis like the NBC station does. Instead of these random shows. I actually watched FOX news in the mornings. Thanks for nothing. I wish they would just leave these stations alone. And from what I hear it doesn't come in clear for the ppl with rabbit ears.

So does this mean that this affiliate will be on Directv in the Jonesboro area?

Sarah please move to Jonesboro, thanks the Management.

The reason it can't air news from Fox is because the Memphis FOx station is owned by Cox whereas the J'Boro one is locally owned. The NBC (KAIT) and WMC from Memphis are owned by same folks so thats why KAIT NBC can do that

• According to the following Wikipedia article, Waypoint Media announced (during June of 2015) that they would acquire KJNE-LP, with the intent to convert the station into a CW affiliate; the station will likely serve as an over-the-air outlet for cable-only CW Plus affiliate, "The CW Jonesboro", for which Waypoint assumed promotional and advertising responsibilities that month. If Waypoint Media does that, I truly feel that KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 [in 720p High-Definition] should serve as the MyNetworkTV affiliate for the Jonesboro, Arkansas market, featuring an Independent/Syndicated type of format outside of the MNT hours (which are 8:00PM—10:00PM Eastern, 7:00PM—9:00PM on Weeknights: Mondays-through-Fridays), marketing the hypothetical KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 as "MyTV Jonesboro"…And then if KJNE-LP Channel 42 could be converted to Digital (to become KJNE-LD Channel 42.1), perhaps DTV DigiNet services (such as Antenna TV, This TV, Cozi TV, or even Decades TV) could be added as 480i Standard-Definition DTV Sub-Channel feeds to KJNE-LD Channel 42.1…If Waypoint Media finds it unfeasible to operate the hypothetical 720p-HD KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 "MyTV Jonesboro" under the Independent/Syndicated format during the remaining 22 Hours per Monday-through-Friday and on Weekends, it might consider adding a DigiNet service (perhaps maybe "Me-TV") as a Secondary Affiliate, with means of filling the remaining airtime, free of Syndication fees. Certain small-market MyNetworkTV affiliates are operated this way (including, but not limited to, WHSV-DT4, WTVY-DT2, WAHU-CD2, WIYE-LD2, etc.); although, most MNT/DigiNet hybrids are broadcast in 480i Standard-Definition, due to the fact that most of those DigiNets have their native resolutions set in SD and all but 10 Hours per week of such MNT/DigiNet Sub-Channels get dedicated to MyNetworkTV programming, therefore ruling out the necessity of the feeds being in High-Definition for such Sub-Channels… — https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KJNE-LP

I mean that MNT/DigiNet Sub-Channels are almost always broadcast in 480i Standard-Definition because all but 10 hours of programming per week on those types of DTV Sub-Channels are dedicated to DigiNets that have their Native Resolutions set at 480i Standard-Definition. MNT programming hours are 8:00PM—10:00PM Eastern, 7:00PM—9:00PM Central on Weeknights: Mondays-through-Fridays…

FOX39 out of Jonesboro provides no closed captioning signal, according to Paragould Light Water & Cable. Are there not any FCC rules about that?

At 1:27 PM, June 24, 2015, Anonymous Anonymous said...

Closed Captioning service is required for ALL network t.v. stations, therefore KJNB is in violation of FCC rules. I am contacting the FCC about the violation ASAP.

KJNB is a low power station although they are broadcasting a digital signal out of Walnut Ridge. The problem is with the very low power signal, only a few people can receive the signal using a outside antenna. Their idea is broadcast a very low signal off air and use the "must carry" rule to get them on all the local cable companies. A tactic that is very shady at the least. I doubt that they really broadcast 24-7 at the Walnut Ridge transmitter. All the cable feeds are coming in off a IP connection via the internet because the local cable companies, Ritter,Suddenlink, Paragould, Fusion,etc can not receive the off air signal. (too weak even 4 miles out of Walnut Ridge). It is a very un business like way of getting the channel on cable systems. I am contacting the FCC and requesting a signal strength test to be performed and a area map created to show the actual range of channel 39..

I just put a dual bow tie antenna up and my girlfriends house in Bono and have had great success. Its only about 8 feet off the ground and its pulling in the Kait 8 NBC and ABC stations the PBS stations and the fox 39 station. There are no dropouts So I'm not going to complain about to low broadcast strength. I really hope they hurry up and put Jonesboro CW 21 up soon.

• KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 “The CW Jonesboro” (The CW Plus)
• KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 “CBS42 Jonesboro” (CBS) {Hypothetical}

• Perhaps, a MyNetworkTV/Antenna TV at the hands of the DTV America Corporation might be just what the doctor ordered for the Jonesboro, Arkansas area (LITERALLY, as Doctor TV often serves as a DT2 Sub-Channel of Television Stations Owned and Operated by the DTV America Corporation)…

• Perhaps, KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 could be a CBS-affiliated DTV Sub-Channel (branded on-air as “CBS42 Jonesboro”)…

• KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 “CBS42 Jonesboro” (CBS) [1080i] {Hypothetical}
• KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 “The CW Jonesboro” (The CW Plus) [720p]

• I believe that KJNE-LP should be converted into KJNE-LD and be made into an affiliate of CBS in 1080i High-Definition (with “The CW Jonesboro” being added as a DT2 Sub-Channel in 720p High-Definition)…I personally feel that KJNE-LD-to-be ought to be an affiliate primarily not of The CW but, rather, of CBS but with The CW still present but as a DT2 Sub-Channel (as opposed to a Primary/Main feed) but with both CBS & The CW presented in High-Definition (CBS in 1080i and The CW in 720p)…

• Similarly, I believe that KJNB-LD (home of “Fox 39” in 720p High-Definition) should crank out a DT2 Sub-Channel, which could serve as the Jonesboro, Arkansas affiliate of MyNetworkTV, which could broadcast either in 720p High-Definition or 480i Standard-Definition, depending upon whether the remaining airtime outside of MyNetworkTV hours gets filled with an Independent/Syndicated TV Shows type of format or with a Secondary Affiliation with another DigiNet service (such as “Me-TV” or “Antenna TV” or “This TV” or “Cozi TV” or something like that), 720p if the format could be MNT/Ind. and 480i if the format is, say, MNT/Antenna…

• …Or, as Wikipedia states, perhaps the MyNetworkTV programming lineup will be brought into the Jonesboro, Arkansas market via one of the two TV Channels that the DTV America Corporation has a Construction Permit to build in Jonesboro, Arkansas and/or their CP for a new TV Station in nearby Paragould, Arkansas, via the Primary-MNT/Secondary-Antenna TV affiliation hybrid type of format that has become a typical practice of the DTV America Corporation and that seems suitable for a market the size of Jonesboro, Arkansas, for paying the Syndication fees for all those remaining hours outside of the 2-Hours-per-Weeknight (i.e. 10-Hours-per-Workweek) of MyNetworkTV programming often proves to be a challenge for a small market but for the Jonesboro, Arkansas area, those fees could be bypassed if the remaining airtime (22 Hours per Weekday and Entire Weekends) gets filled with “Antenna TV”…Of course, than again, a Full-Time MNT/Ind. station in Jonesboro, Arkansas via a hypothetical “MyTV Jonesboro” (MyNetworkTV) [720p] would really be an interesting sight to see and I’m all for rooting for such a scenario to occur…

ON suddenlink in Jonesboro, the sound is very low on the programs and LOUD on the commercials.

The sound difference issue sounds interesting…I know that I’ve known some Cable TV service providers to suddenly not have any audio for some of its Cable-only “Not-for-Broadcast” channels but I’ve never heard of that happening to a feed for a Big-4 Network Affiliate…Maybe, it has a lot to do with “Fox 39” still being in the very early “Still Working Out The Bugs” phases or it might be a Cable Company issue entirely…

• KJNB-LD1 Channel 39.1 “Fox 39” (Fox) [720p]
• KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 “MyTV39 Jonesboro” (MyNetworkTV/Ind.) [720p] {Hypothetical}

• KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 “CBS42 Jonesboro” (CBS) [1080i] {Hypothetical}

• IF it’s honestly true that KJNE-LD is gonna, in fact, be “CBS 42.1,” then I strongly feel that they should put “The CW+” on KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 (retaining the “Jonesboro CW 21” branding, via the SD feed’s placement on area Cable TV systems). KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 ought to be in 1080i High-Definition and then KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 ought to be in 720p High-Definition and then, if they have any Bandwidth left, they should “Shoehorn” in (meaning squishing it in when close-to-insufficient “Remaining Bandwidth” exists to accommodate for the addition of it) a Multicast/DigiNet type of feed (such as “Decades” or “Me-TV” or “Cozi TV” or “Grit” or “ZUUS Country” or something like that) as a 480i-SD DT3 Sub-Channel…Usually, it most often winds up being in incredibly small Media Markets (such as the 30 or 40 smallest Markets, Jonesboro, Arkansas being in 180th place out of all 210 Media Markets) where the 1080i-720p-480i type of setup gets implemented (2 HD feeds + the “Shoehorning” in of 1 SD feed)…That way, a High-Definition feed for “The CW+” will start becoming available to Jonesboro, Arkansas viewers…

— KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 “CBS 42” (CBS) [1080i]
— KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 “Jonesboro CW 21” (CW+) [720p]
— KJNE-LD3 Channel 42.3 DigiNet service [480i]

— KJNB-LD1 Channel 39.1 “Fox 39” (Fox) [720p]
— KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 DigiNet service [480i]
— KJNB-LD3 Channel 39.3 DigiNet service [480i]

• And If The DTV America Corporation actually carries out their plans to build a brand new LD Television Station in Jonesboro, Arkansas, than perhaps KJNB-LD “Fox 39” wouldn’t need to add a MyNetworkTV-affiliated DT2 Sub-Channel and perhaps they could put other things on their DTV Sub-Channels, such as Multicast/DigiNet feeds (due to The DTV America Corporation’s tendency to affiliate their DT1 feeds with MyNetworkTV & Antenna TV)…

KAIT is Raycom. The Raycom affiliate in Cape Girardeau, KFVS...operates WQWQ.

It has to be the crappiest Me TV affiliate in the Me TV system.

They bastardize the mornings, bastardize the afternoon programming, and they carry NO Me TV prime time programming. They run night time preachers, infomercials and other crap, showing that they have no regard for the viewer, and only have ME Tv to tie it up in the market, and whore out the carrier, 12.2, running CW and crap programming that Raycom dumped on them, to replace ME TV prime and other dayparts, as well.

I plan to try to organize a letter campaign to get ME TV pulled from KFVS, and given to a WSIL-TV which operates out of Carterville, IL, as WSIL, and Poplar Bluff, Mo as KPOB. They have two carriers, and they duplicate ABC on both carrier channels, 15.1 and 15.2.

In southern Missouri, and northeast Arkansas, need an over the air ME tv channel that isn't whored out like KFVS Cape Girardeau does it.

Hell, Saturday night, they ran some crappy RAYCOM SPORTS home made POS instead of ME TV Saturday prime.

You really cannot tell that you are watching ME TV, on 12.2 out of Cape, because of the CW programming, and random crap programming substituting for solid ME TV programs.

In the Cape Girardeau-Paducah-Harrisburg market, ME TV national advertisers are getting screwed, because the majority of their ad dollars do not result in ads on WQWQ because of the Raycom bastardization of the ME TV schedule.

KAIT is not as bad, but just keep an eye if Raycom gets involved in any of this. KFVS has become a really crap operation in so many ways, from management, news, to programming of WQWQ.

Apparently, KJNE-LD is gonna be a simulcast of KJNB-LD…

I would really love to see them add “Jonesboro CW 21” as a 480i Standard-Definition LD3 Sub-Channel of both KJNB-LD & KJNE-LD…For example, what if both KJNB-LD3 Channel 39.3 & KJNE-LD3 Channel 42.3 could become the brand new over-the-air home of “Jonesboro CW 21”? …What I have in mind is a 480i Standard-Definition LD3 Sub-Channel that could be how “Jonesboro CW 21” could be offered over-the-air for the first time in the Jonesboro, Arkansas DMA…Then, that way, Satellite TV customers from within the Jonesboro, Arkansas Media Market can start receiving their programming from “The CW” locally, courtesy of their all new over-the-air connection to their local “CW+” affiliate, “Jonesboro CW 21”…The PSIP Short Name for both KJNB-LD3 Channel 39.3 & KJNE-LD3 Channel 42.3 could be “THE CW” because it will be no more than a “CW+” affiliate, which would remain mostly automated, for the most part…

Here’s What I Have In Mind…

— KJNB-LD1 Channel 39.1 “Fox 39” (Fox) [720p]
— KJNB-LD2 Channel 39.2 “CBS 42” (CBS) [1080i]
— KJNB-LD3 Channel 39.3 “Jonesboro CW 21” (The CW+) [480i 16:9 Letterboxed]

— KJNE-LD1 Channel 42.1 Simulcast of “Fox 39” (Fox) [720p]
— KJNE-LD2 Channel 42.2 Simulcast of “CBS 42” (CBS) [1080i]
— KJNE-LD3 Channel 42.3 Simulcast of “Jonesboro CW 21” (The CW+) [480i 16:9 Letterboxed]
