Hmm... well it's probably a decent time to sell. KLRT probably had the best recent book of anyone. And let me clarify, no they didn't "win" anything, but their growth was substantial.

Going from a 1 to a 2 in one slot where you are so far behind you can barely see the competition is not exactly what I would call substantial growth. Nice try though.

Too bad Nexstar isn't selling KARK 4.

12:14am You might want someone to teach you how to read a book....
In the demo of 18-49 KLRT is tied with THV.

They had their best numbers ever at 5 and they weren't 1 to 2 either.

Hey 11:52,

It makes NO difference what kind of moderate growth 16 saw this book! That's so stupid! They're shopping the entire group! Most of the staions in the Newport family suck and can't turn a profit and are managed poorly by people with no business there.

I mean who ever buys them is clearly in good shape now because KLRT saw their shares go up at 5pm!! Wow!! Michael Di'Pasqualeee is probably beating offers away with a stick now!!! I mean forget that CW is a complete waste of airtime and an abomination of local TV, FOX 16 grew at 5!!! SOLD!!!

I think they should try to make KLRT a FOX owned-and-operated station if they leave Newport Television. They could also bring along their sister station KASN (The CW).

FOX is not interested in buying KLRT. If they were they would have already bought it.
Plus the Murdock's are in serious legal trouble with that failed satellite merger and phone hacking scandal in the UK which may cause problems for them and FOX here in the states.

It looks like it will either be Hearst or Raycom to buy Newport.

Don't know about Hearst but Raycom was a good company to work for. Well at least it was at the Raycom station i use to work for.

It would be interesting if it were Raycom. That company owns WMC in Memphis and KAIT in Jonesboro.

Raycom also owns KSLA in Shreveport which the viewers in Southwest Arkansas get. Raycom is based out of Montgomery Alabama and 80% of their stations are in the South and Southeast. It's a great company to transfer with. They also own the CBS and NBC affiliates in Honolulu Hawaii so you can transfer to paradise.

Wouldn't that be nice. I've been to Hawaii several times and would love to get transferred there, but the cost of living is just outrageous.
