Wrong. Everyone knows 5News does everything 40/29 does. I work for 5 so I think I can say that with confidence. We even bought the same damn jackets.

5:09 is correct.
5 has basically been a carbon copy of 40/29 for awhile now.
40/29 has live reporters in the morning about 18 months ago.
5 then added a reporter.
40/29 added reporters in the River Valley and Northwest Arkansas.
5 added reporters on both side of tunnel.
40/29 aired a traffic report.
5 followed with traffic reports.
40/29 broke into programming during weather events.
5 started breaking into programming and followed.
40/29 started sending traffic alerts.
5 followed and started sending traffic alerts.
40/29 got the jackets for reporters.
5 copied.
40/29 started their weekend morning newscast.
5 followed with taped reports, then live news on Saturday and Sunday.
40/29 has two weekend anchors at night.
Rumor has it 5 will have two weekend night anchors real soon.
While 5 is most watched in a number of dayparts, 40/29 is leading the way in the market and 5, everyone who works there, everyone in the market knows it.

Ratings prove otherwise...explain that.

40/29 can't even talk smack 'til ya beat Channel 5 in a full book. I'm not talking about one demo here or their, I'm talking full market --> Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Fort Smith.

The way news is done in the market is a joke anyway. I've seen better stuff at college TV stations

Both the 40/29 and 5 look like they are doing the news out of a basement with horrible lighting and graphics from the early nineties . Knwa production is a lot better than anybody else in northwest Arkansas . Their only problem is that they seem a little unorganzied and they don't follow up on important news reports in their own back yard of Fayetteville

Failing upward I see. Both 5 and 40 are 2 of the most bush league stations to ever hit the airwaves.
