Shreveport Anchor Retires...Again

KTBS/Channel 3/Shreveport anchor Sherri Talley is retiring....again.  Talley's broadcasting career spans some 30 years.  Talley retired back in 2011...then returned to the anchor desk in the summer of 2014.  Tonight was her last night on air.

So what was the straw that broke the camels back this time?

Probably no raise or no renewed contract considering younger anchors already in place.

My guess is the latter

When Sherri came back in 2014, she only planned to stay a couple of years.

Isn't it wonderful how people think that they know everything, when in reality they are completely ignorant of the situation, what basis does this moron have for this statement!

First of all, this is Louisiana and not a top 10 market. No matter how much she was loved or how well she did her job, she would never have had the opportunity to come back in the first place in a truly major market (Shreveport was #87). Only one female anchor in DFW market has survived over the age of 50, and they were far superior to anyone in the Shreveport market. Unfortunately, there is a shelf life in that profession in 95% of the cases no matter how great you are and/or how much someone loves you. Not at all fair or right, but true. I am sure she is happy in her new endeavors and doing well.
