KNWA Reporter Leaving

This from a tipster: KNWA reporter Whitney Ray is leaving for a job in Florida, per himself on tonight's 5:00 news, but didn't say exactly where he is going. Ray had been working at KNWA for 3 1/2 years after majoring in journalism at the University of Arkansas.

Where in Florida is he going? Is he going to work for a television station?

Why are these "tipsters" giving out just pieces of information?

7:24, I sent in the tip after seeing Ray, Neilie Jones and Matt Turner talk about it today. They didn't say what station he (Ray) was going to; guess they didn't think viewers would care what the call letters are. Maybe a KNWA employee in the know can post it here?

Whitney is a great guy and an excellent reporter. Good luck

He actually is going to be a capital correspondent for the state's legislature, not working for a TV station. Pretty cool gig if you ask me...focus on the reporting aspect, not so much the politics and nonsense that we all deal with at our own affiliates:)

Way to go!

There's no harder working reporter in NWA today. He's sharpened his skills in many aspects of television news and rightfully deserves a great career move.

Whitney has the respect of many in the KNWA newsroom and those people working at competing stations. He's worked at KFSM, UATV and KNWA in the past decade.

Congrats Whitney! I wish you all the best.

Whitney Ray is going to blow them away in Florida. He has the natural curiosity it takes and the ability to coax those he interviews into saying much more than they meant to.

We'll see him on a national program before long.

Whitney's one of the best reporters I've ever worked with. He's going to kick ass in Florida and beyond. And boy are they going to miss him.

Way to go brother.

Glad to see Whitney moving on. KNWA was terrible to work for under Pickey, I am just suprised that it took Whit this long... Good luck!

It sucked under Rob Heverling too. KNWA has had many terrible news directors.

Whitney Ray is a good reporter but Sara Lasure is a great reporter.

Then why is Ms. Lasure still in this crappy market? The great reporters move on!

Whitney, it's about time. You've worked hard, and I'm so happy to hear you are moving on to a station where hopefully you will really be appreicated for what you are. You work hard, play hard and deserve to to be happy. I hope you find happiness in Florida! We will miss you!

So true. Whit went through some rough patches with the pompass-know-nothing news director that used to terrorize his employees there up until a few months ago. (Scott Pickey) Now, things are a little better in that news room, but it's time for Whitney to get outta there. Way to stick it out, man. Wish you the best.
